So how is the writers strike affecting your life? What are you doing with all that free time?
Me? I IRONED.......yeah.......I also just emerged from the deadline from hell, so I'm also cleaning and acting like a real mom again (no jokes from the peanut gallery). I'm also reading more, and relying on my DVR to tape the things I want to watch--I'll catch up this weekend.
I recently finished Scot Westerfeld's Extras (it's a YA book. Yes I realize I'm not a YA person but just because it's for teens doens't mean adults can't read it), and Carrie Vaughn's Kitty and the Midnight Hour. I loved both of these...Kitty was a new to me author but I'm already ordering the next two books in her series.
So.......what's the last book you read?

I just finished a biography of Virginia Woolf, "Rainbow and Granite". And I'm now reading "Carry Me Down" by M.J. Hyland. But I have about twenty books going at once. "Carry" has captured my interest until the end, however.
The writer's strike...ugh....I don't watch much TV but am a tad miffed about the Golden Globes being canceled.....I pray it is over by the Oscars......that's my favorite show, I have parties like other's have Super Bowl parties on that night. Wish the strike would just end.

I'm currently reading Sarum by Edward Rutherfurd. It's a historical novel about England. I read his book, London, not too long ago. It's wonderful to discover a new favorite author...especially at a thrift store or yard sale.

Just finished Mark Levin's 'Rescuing Sprite' and James Patterson's 'Cat & Mouse'. Rescuing Sprite was an xmas gift from my neighbor because of the loss of my little dog just a couple days before the holiday. Quite the dog lover's story of both joy and anguish as the cover states. I finished Cat & Mouse almost in one sitting it was so suspense filled. Have already started the 'One Year Bible' online and enjoying the research it is making me pursue and am getting ready to start John Grisham's 'The Innocent Man'...thought maybe it was about me ....NOT...but I like his writing anyway.
have a nice day J

Hey J! Hugs on the loss of your pet!! I hope you're doing better.
I quit Patterson a long time ago--not sure why--but I LOVE Grisham...and Baldacci!

I guess no one is ever happy anymore. I can see why these writers are striking!!! How horribly these writers are being treated....imagine working only a few months a year and only making a few million.
To the writers, actors, athletes and other overpaid and overstuffed people in this world I say this...get a clue, get a life, get a real job and please get a grip on reality!

So great, to see what folks are READING!
I've just started a book on Mania and the creative process; how to channel mania into productivity. I find it's being really well-recieved by members of a womens group in my area, who are struggling with their own Midlife angst, and a desire to move on with some honesty and clarity.
Thank you, for getting us talking!

Qtr.......it's been really nice. I LOVE to read, I'm a huge reader, but it's also easy to get caught up in the hectic day-to-day stuff.
Your book sounds interesting!!! I have yet to meet a writer who isn't at the least a little left of center (OCD, ADD, just good old fashioned neurotic LOL)
