"There is a great relief in experiencing the worst vicariously."
(Fiona Shaw)

We often don't realize how much something affects us until resolution is reached. In my case, that potentially worrisome little "hot spot" on the oncology follow-up scan created tension that, despite my generally Zen-like attitude, prevented any real sleep and found me a little sore and decidedly on high alert early this morning.

But for reasons to which I will likely not be privy in this lifetime, I am blessed. There are angels watching over me. And often they take matters into their own hands and forcibly move me to the fringes of disaster, allowing me to be more of a bystander than a participant. So it is that I have the good fortune to learn my lessons with a tad less angst than some.

The phone rang promptly with the news this morning. The hospital staff is nothing but efficient and caring and so the call came early to tell us that there does not appear to be anything out of the ordinary with that odd little "hot spot". My body is simply doing what it should be doing to keep me going.

The physical angel in my life, that man I so dearly love, carried the larger portion of the long night's worry for me and his relief was even more palpable than my own.

Thanks, angels. Thanks, Murphy. Thanks to those of you who cared, too.

I'm paying closer attention again.

I missed your other blog. I sometimes get caught up in my own little world and miss things of tremendous importance.

I am so glad you are out of the woods. Our bodies are sometimes quite unpredictable, aren't they?

Great news! What a relief, for all.

Let's try to stay off that table/tomb now...we've both taken too many rides on it, and that hot spot sensation works the same on me....good thing they make us fast first

Honestly my dear.. you were on my mind all night.. I sat here at this computer until 5:15 this morning.. trying to write something that effectively conveyed my concern and feelings about this last ordeal you went through.. but try as I might, I was speechless.. the words would not come.. only tears..
the tears sliding down my face now are tears of relief.. the knot that has been in my throat is finally easing up..
Thank you God....

Fantabulous... and now the "head banger" will hold you tonight and find that delicious solitude of your arms and love without any twinges of worry...

Rest well, both of you...

That is awesome !

Congratulations to both of you, that this can be put behind you!

I read your other blog at work, and didn't want to respond, until I had more time and thought, but now, I am much happier, responding to this news!

I was thinking alot this afternoon, how there re those, we dont know too well, through the internet, yet we get a feel for them. And in both your cases, its like you both are indestructable, and nothing can or will slow you down! Well, Thats how I percieve the two of you anyway!

Now its time for the big Sigh, a bottle of wine, some candles, and a great night together.

Well done Sci........... somehow I knew nothing could derail the momentum!
