BandTMom

Once I wandered all alone
In deepest darkness stumbling.
Frightened, lost, and angry,
Grasping for a light.

Discouraged and so tired
I quietly let go.
Twas then a small faint glow
Appeared in the distance.

Brightening, it grew nearer,
And in the center sat
A smiling Buddha figure.
His arms were open wide.

"Compassion, my child
Is the first to learn",
He whispered in my ear.
"Wisdom and love will follow."

Surrounded by a sudden warmth,
The darkness became light.
Filled by peace and love,
I opened up my mind.

Thus began my journey
of wisdom and the truth.
Compassion,love, and peace
Are my lamp along the way.
