I am not an excellent SCRABBLE player. Many of you would probably beat me. I seldom make 350 points any more. My computer game went haywire, so now, regardless if I win, the program says I lost. Sometimes it lets the computer player (Maven) use words not in the dictionary. That irritates me. I am not a highly competitive player. But I do call Maven names and throw things at him at times lol
I played with a church singles group once. I had attended their functions for several weeks but they were cliquish and would not invite me to play. One night a player bowed out due to a headache and I sat in. on a four player game. Surprisingly my first word was a seven letter word which I started the game with. My second word was a seven letter word and so was my third. Never had that happened before in my life. One of the players was absolutely furious over it. I was almost embarrassed by my good plays and knew they were entirely due to the luck of the draw.
Two years ago I played a game unwittingly against a tournament player. (an editor of the Denver Post) He TROMPED me. Somewhere around 550 points to my 165 in a three player game. It was a humiliating experience!
