and YES the White Rose is the ancient symbol of the County of Yorkshire, England. That's where the "War of the Roses" concept comes from... The House of Lancashire had a Red Rose and a different candidate for King... 500 years back...
but your poem has much more positive energy...

Beautiful..that is why i bought myself roses for Mother's day., they were pink but there certainly something pure about the white ones........

White roses really look so gorgeous even a single and if from someone who love you deeply truely.
Guess your mom would love the pink 
I love roses but I never had roses on valentine's day in this past few years ..yeah there's no love, only one internet love  long time ago. so sweet from the other continent.
I liked to buy roses for myself whenever i feel like especially in the week of valentine's day.

A sweet bud thou art,
Tender, untouched; neither
Defiled by man who looks
Upon thee with envy and the
Lust of the flesh.
I see in their eyes the greed
Which takes hold of them; who
Are without.
They; whose desires
Descend into the very jaws of
Hell, for they of themselves
Cannot, nay dare not posses thee,
Unworthy even to behold thy beauty.
