I love reruns of the old TV sitcoms. TVLand shows Andy every night at 11pm. I go thru phases, as a TV viewer, of old shows. for the last 2 weeks or so, I've faithfully watched Andy every night before bed. last night was a good one. Andy went on vacation and left the sheriff's office in the hands of Barney and Gomer. that same day, they embarassed themselves by letting a criminal escape. then, of course, Andy catches him and everything is ok again. this seems to be a common theme. Andy is the only one with any brains. most of the other characters are idiots. so I was just thinking about that and the fact that the show is called The Andy Griffith show. I wonder if its just a coincidence that its his show and his character is the only one with any dignity and worth. probably more than a coincidence. he seems like a nice guy, but maybe a little egocentric. am I right?
