Hi All,
I'm just stopping by to let everyone know that my oldest daughter, Cianna had to be rushed by ambulance to LaCrosse on the evening of 1/10/08 because the baby was coming early. She had to have a C-section on 1/11/08 and @ 3:05 am Adrian John Ligorio Fernandes was born. He weighed in at 2.8 pds and 14 3/4 inches long. I'm in the hospital library with Cianna right now as she wanted to check her emails, so I figured I'd let all of ya's know what's happening in my world.
Baby is stable right now, but he was on the ventilator for 25 hrs after he was born, and they took him off, but after giving him medicine to close the ductus vessel in his heart, had to be put back on for a lil over a day and a half. He's now off it again and breathing on his own and taking breast milk. He's had 2 blood transfusions as of Friday, and there's probably more to come. He will probably have spells of being put back on the ventilator every so often too. I've been told this is normal.
Cianna is still in the hospital. She was discharged on Tues after delivery, but then had to be re-admitted because of infection. She has staph infection and is VERY SICK and not alloweed to see her baby at all right now. Sunday evening her incision finally broke open, and the doctor then came down to her and opened it up another 2 inches or so. Lee flew home from TN where he was trying to work to get money for his immagration papers for being married to Cianna, but this is where he belongs, although he's talking of going back to TN soon, as he says they need the money.
We're going to try and get donation cans out in a couple of the towns around here, PdC, Fennimore, Boscobel and Wauzeka. It's just a matter of me getting the time to get them out. Right now I've been trying my best to make sure Lee has something to eat up there, but my funds are running low down here too. We're also going to try and get a benefit in order for them for later on. Again, it's a matter of me getting the time.
I have pictures of Adrian on my myspace, www.myspace.com/jasonmyangel, and will update them as I get them taken and time to get them on the computer. I'm getting ready to leave tonight and drive up to LaCrosse again. They are talking of discharging Cianna, so they want to teach me how to pack her incision with antibiotic gauze. I know, I know, ya'll think it's disgusting, but I've had staph before and it's the only way to get it cured.
The other girls seem to be doing ok. Carlee, my 2nd to the oldest and her fiance are moving back to PdC. They've actually been staying with me since before the holidays and he starts school the 26th of this month again. I also have to get Cianna's things moved out of where she was living, since my Mom decided to move back into elderly apts..LOL nice time for her to decide to move, while I'm up here at the hospital everyday! Oh, MY MOM!! We WON'T go there...lol
Matt has been having alot of flashbacks since Adrian was born. I think the pictures he seen of him all hooked up to the wires bothered him tremendously. He's on 2 diff kinds of meds now, and I guess we'll see how they work. He was just put on them last Friday, and the 2nd one this past Monday. He was in the psych ward just before Christmas. Him and one of his friends were cutting on themselves. Of course I wanted him to get the help he needed, so I requested for them to put him on a chapter 51/72 hr hold to make sure he was ok.
He gave me such a big hug and kiss on the cheek last night before leaving to come up here to be with C and her baby.
I'm trying my best to hold it together. It's very over-whelming, and I'm wondering "will I ever get a break here? will He ever be done "testing me"?" I've only have 3 break downs since this all started when they brought her up in the ambulance, but have had many over the holidays. Jason was in my thoughts more than anyone can imagine!
I did get the BEST Christmas present anyone could ask for though....a friend that I've been talking to online for 4 yrs FINALLY called me Christmas morning, we were chatting on the net, and he asked for my # and he's been calling regularly since then. He's awesome!!
He's been through what we're going through right now with the hospital thing, sleeping on the small couches LOL (I had been sleeping on a couch about 3 1/2 feet long) Keep in mind, I'm 6' tall....haha!!
His son has Downs, so he was at the hospital for 4 mths after he was born.
I'm going to stop talking about him now, because I don't want to jinx it. NOT A JOKE!! Too many bad things going on in my life to lose him!!! He IS my best friend!!
Ok all, I'm going to scoot for now, I'll stop back by when I get the chance. My daughter is ready to be walked back up to her room.

I posted this blog on my myspace and forgot to edit it before I posted it on here. I was at the hospital when I sent it out, with my daughter, but I realize after copying and pasting it, it sounded pretty messed up...I'm sorry about that.
I stayed at the hospital Tues night, and came home Thursday morning and returned up there Thursday night, and just got back home about 1030 this morning.
I'm exhausted, so I'm going to be home until Monday then going back up in the afternoon.
Adrian is now taking in 20cc's of milk every 4 hrs and he now weighs 2 lbs 9 oz. The IV in his navel was taken out Thursday after I'd left up there. He's a lil fighter!!
Mom is doing well for now also. She's been walking down to the cafeteria to get her meals. They've arranged for her dr. to change her dressings during the week when I'm not up there, and she will go to Urgent Care on the weekends when I'm not there.
