How many of us have held a grudge against somebody we care about? How many of you bloggers are currently holding a grudge against another blogger? Grudges destroy moral, families, friendships, co-workers, teammates, you name it, grudges are not good. Pride is the biggest culprit of a long drawn out grudge. Secretly deep down inside, don't you people who are currently holding the grudge against someone wish the grudge would just go away but you your pride just won't allow it? How many of us who are holding a grudge are hoping the other person involved with the grudge would be the one to break the ice and say sorry first? Wouldn't you rather have your friendship rekindled? Maybe it is time to think about swallowing your pride and make the first move. Just a thought. I am sure it will be awkward at first, but I assure you that you will feel so much better for it very soon. If you choose not to forgive, then you live without love for that individual. What good is love if the love is selective? Love is so much better then holding grudges because grudges tear at your soul, your mind, your heart and make you feel bad when you think of that person. Now many of you will think I am crazy like you always do anyway, but this is my philosophy and I am sticking by it. Here is a little passage I think about when I have a problem with someone;

Forgiveness and Prayer

"And whenever you stand praying, if you have anything against anyone, forgive him, that your Father in heaven may also forgive your trespasses. But if you do not forgive, neither will your Father in heaven forgive your trespasses."

That passage is in the bible under Mark 11:25-26 and the quote is by Jesus.

Whether you are a christian or not, whether you believe in the bible or not, you have to admit, forgiveness is a whole lot better then holding a grudge. Well, at least I think so.

I forgive you for annoying the hell out of me.

And since we're on this issue of "forgiveness," how do you recommend we forgive god for creating and maintaining the existence of satan? We are but imperfect, mortal flesh: poweless to the influences of satan.

Oh.

Wait.

I see.

We must ask jesus/god to help us overcome satan's power. Not only ask, but believe in him.

Trials and tribulations: how better to quantify our worthiness of jesus'/god's mercy (something he truly would have had no other way of "knowing")?

Brilliant.

You are absolutely right Justsay! holding a grudge is like holding poison inside your body, the only one who suffers is you.

True forgiveness has to be unconditional. No strings attached, no "ifs ands or buts" otherwise it is not really forgiveness. The real trick is learning to apply that to one forgiving ones self.
