As you may have noticed, I am fond of Siberian Huskies. You may have gathered that by the number of pics I have of them on my profile. All of those that are on my profile, are of dogs I have seen on line. I was collecting pictures of them in order to see if I had a certain pattern I enjoyed the most. Many of them are an "open" face pattern, but in the long run, I don't think it mattered.
They are a most remarkable breed. I have been searching on line now for weeks, but without too much luck. There are a number of breeders on line, but nothing just jumped out at me.
Yesterday, while looking through our local paper, I happened to see an ad for Sibs right here in our own hometown. I was pretty sceptical , but I gave them a call and went for a visit.I stopped and picked up the boy on the way.....he is just about to turn 15, and I figure he deserved a buddy that could actually give him a run for his money!
Two litters, a week apart, 8 males, two females to choose from. Holy smokes!
We got over to the kennel, and they let all the puppies out at once. What great fun. In the course of the hour and a half we spent playing with them all, I must of tied my shoes 600 times. Why do puppies love shoelaces?
Both parents on site....Daddy is a magnificent animal. They let him out into the yard, ( and keep in mind, there is snow on the ground, wind is blowing, and it is around 18 degrees.) and this beautiful creature came bounding up to us both, stood on his hind legs and gave us each a big lick in the face, while never laying a paw on either one of us. He moved like liquid motion.....powerful, and always with the Siberian "smile".....his coat was thick and incredibly soft.
Momma is straight from Siberia. Another beautiful dog, large but not nearly as large as Dad. She is white.
After playing with the Dad for a while, we made our way back to the puppies. Going back and forth and back and forth....we finally settled on our guy. He is gonna be a monster, just like his daddy. I would post a picture, and will I am sure, but for now he looks exactly like the one I have up as my profile picture. And in fact, did the very same thing with his water this morning as the stinker in the picture.
So....this morning, while the boy is in school.....Little Sh*t is with me here in the shop. He is a star already....a real chick magnet! He needs a name as you can see! I am taking any suggestions! Feel free to throw one at me!
We are going up on the mountain this weekend and watch the dog sled races and get to know some like minded folks. I already have plans drawn up for the kennel I will be building this spring and plan on talking with folks up there who might have some cool ideas.
This may not end with just one. We will see.
So there ya have it ....the news from Lake Damnitscoldhere. Where the women are freezing, the men are a bit chilly, and the children are frozen in time.. Mush you Huskies!

My first born was given a Siberian Husky as a baby gift...born a few days after him...brought with a big red bow...beautiful pup!...raised it for two years and someone stole her out of the pen one night while we were gone. We were heart broken as we all loved her!
They are beautiful dogs and I'm sure you'll have lots of good memories raising him! No ideas for names as of yet, but if I happen to think of any I will let you know.
Enjoy!

What a picture! Names are so hard to come up with for animals. I tend to wait and watch them to see what kind of personalities they have, then name them.
With the picture, I would think something to do with water would be good.
Or, how about,,, d.o.g Phonic saying would be, de oh gee.

Congratulations on the new addition, puppies are just adorable. I myself prefer to rescue mutts (not getting on any soapbox, I just have a place in my heart for mutts!) Good luck on a name, I looked at the picture, and the name Spice comes to mind, but it does sound more like a girl's name. Take care!

Gotta love dem Huskies... any kind I have some cute babes Misty (coat of grey/mist/fog... looks white at times with the misty blue eyes of course) Yahna (1/2 timberwolf and husky) name means bear in Cherokee I was told. and my goofiest ..Salem my blk n white (what a name.. not my idea) blue and brown eyes.. loves all except other male dogs. All are darling and gentle with my grandson although he does get overwhelmed with the face licks since he's just their height hahaa I also have some pics in my profile. ENJOY!!! Maybe a nice Siberian name that translates well? There are sites for that.

my friend named his God...wait wait....it's not sick, it's a different spelling for Jody... can you see it? A soft G. Ok.....I thought it was cute (even my dad who's a pastor laughed)
But good luck with the pup...if you're as sweet as the pup as you are to some of us, that little guy's gonna be swooning!

Congratulations! How fun for you and your son. Look forward to hearing what you decide about a name. How about 'Tuned'?---it's kind of natural for you to say, "Stay, Tuned". Or 'Hinckley'?

I ALWAYS choose "people" names for my pets ( currently all felines). They become part of our family so I believe a human-ish name suits.
Check the date of his birth; see what other noble creature shares that date. Siberia is not all that far from Mongolia; name him "Brynner" after Yul, my favourite Mongolian.
My oldest cat is named Louis L'Amour. Luckily I wasn't reading Danielle Steele when I found him.

Try out names in the backyard first. Find one that you are reasonably comfortable with bellowing at the top of your lungs as you walk through your neighborhood. Learned that trick after my friend's cat disappeared for a while one night. We gave up looking after we concluded it wasn't the right time or name. Something about walking down that narrow alleyway at 2 in the morning yelling out, "get your ass back here Monkeylips,"

I think you should stick with Little Sh*t... It kind of has a ring to it and will definitely make people take a 2nd look when he gets bigger..
