Mom- You brought me up to know that I can be whatever and whoever I want to be. You have been a support system and a light in the storm even when we were not getting along. The past month has made me realise exactly what you mean to me. You fostered my intelligence as soon as you realised I had it at the age of 4 or 5 and did not raise me to be either masculine or feminine and I totally appreciate that.

Carianne- From the moment you were born 13 years ago you changed my life, even though I didn't want you to. You taught me how to share...I was such a spoiled little brat back then. I know I was mean to you for such a long time, but you are one of the best friends I have now and I miss you so, so much. When you get through this you are going to be so much stronger than really, anyone I know.

Kelly- For the past fifteen years, you have been by my side through every break down, through every heartbreak, through every triumph, and through every downfall. I have had more laughs with you than I have ever had with anyone and you never felt like you had to distance yourself from me because I was strange. We had the greatest sleepovers and we will always have the best memories. God, we had so many laughs. Some day we'll be old ladies, sitting on the porch rocking in our rocking chairs and we'll say in our old lady voices "I remember in kindergarten when Mrs. Kuehm told you to drink your milk every day, Kelly, and you never did", and you'll respond: "Yes, and then one day I actually finished it and she said 'YAY! KELLY FINISHED HER MILK!' in front of the whole class. And then the next day she tripped over the recycling bin and broke her arm". It's so funny how we still laugh about that and the goat that ate Chris Sosynzki's mom's map of Space Farms while you and I were eating Gushers....lol and the time we threw Gushers at Pat's shoulder to see if they bounced off and if he could feel them (and they did, and he couldn't). You're the best friend I could ever ask for....foo. (BTW - FAAFAAM.)

Jeanine- I still remember the first day I met you when Evan invited me to sit at his lunch table. You were wearing a shirt that said "Hollywood". Evan mentioned that when he got his surgery, he wanted to change his name to "Beverly Hollywood". We thought that was so great. Then you yelled at me for being a Communist and expressed your blatant dislike for me. A few months later, we started dating. We've been through so much together, Jeanine, and I don't know if I would've made it through that long four year journey called "High School" (lol it really was "High" School with us) without you. You taught me all about being a real human being and how not to care about what they said about me. I love you. I mean I really love you like a sister.

Casi- God, you were a saving grace throughout 8th grade. You basically lived at my house and we had the most deep, insightful talks at the age of 14 and 12 that most adults around us could not understand....about 9/11 and America and stuff. You were there for me when my social anxiety really came to a head and you really helped me come out of my shell and introduced me to new friends. I still remember that summer...it was the best one of my life so far. And you were there while my bipolar disorder was developed and through my first real heartbreak with Patrick....I'm so sorry our friendship ended the way it did and I know we both wish it could've been different.

Jeanette- Man...even today, we're kindred spirits. I met you in 6th grade, and I so did not like you until 7th grade because you were too quiet and I thought you were a snob. You were totally not. You were a freak just like me, and you let me know it was ok to be a freak. We sat there, every day during 7th and 8th grade study hall (on the days we didn't have Orchestra) writing down our "Songs of the Day" (lol yours were always Nirvana and mine were always Eurythmics) and trading so we could read them. Remember when we went to Florida? Good times...we were so "angular" on the way there. I got drunk with you and that was great cos we watched That's My Bush and then my lava lamp fell on my head. I miss you so much.

Marissa- I was a shit to you; I really was. I guess I was jealous that even though they were as mean to you as they were to me, you didn't really let it get to you, and I did. I don't know. I know you tried really hard to be friends with me, but I fell in with a really bad crowd when I befriended Evan and such. We had been friends since we were 5 and I am so sorry. After a few years, I realised what a horrible person I was my freshman year (and sophomore, as well) and I really underwent a serious change.

Canice and Honore- Hot summer days playing on the swingset and playing Barbies in your living room. Arguments in your bed room over who gets to have Shawn Michaels as a husband (between you two of course). Me being forced to take sides during your very heated arguments over what was usually nothing. Colourforms, My Little Pony, Rainbow Brite, Baby Sitters' Club dolls, and Strawberry Shortcake dolls. Without you two, I wouldn't have had a childhood. You introduced me to the WWF. I'll always love you two.

Ms. Kaiser- Not only did you help re-introduce me to politics, but you helped me to realise I was bisexual. I had such a huge crush on you and I know that you knew and really, you dealt with it so well. You were like a friend to me and I'll always be grateful for that.

Dr. Lepse- In truth, I fell in love with you when I was 14 and I don't think I ever forgot it or fell out of love with you. You are an incredible woman who is beyond description. I have never met a woman, personally, who is even in your league as far as intelligence, inner beauty, or outer beauty. Thank you for being there for me the way you were. I couldn't even walk out the door on my last day of 8th grade without giving you a hug or leave the 8th grade dance without dancing with you. I remember what you said to me: "Renae, I remember when I met you. You were an akward little 7th grader wearing a pitch black suit in 80 degree weather and you came up to me and asked me to take a picture with you. I didn't even know you but I said yes, anyway. Then somehow, you ended up in my class, and our relationship has grown so much since then, and so have you. I'm gonna miss you, but you can come visit me anytime."

Sam- You were going through the same thing I was my Senior year and we bonded like sisters. You also introduced me to my boyfriend and for that I am eternally grateful. Also, before I met him, no one else knew how it felt to struggle with Nazism and White Nationalism.

And lastly...

Hillary Clinton- When I was very little, I wrote you a letter about something really stupid that concerned me as a young American. After about a year, I received a reply that was signed by you. You have no idea how much that meant to me.

Ya know what the thing about writing is? Sometimes, it's just good to write, it's a form of therapy, a purging so to speak. It isn't important who reads it, how many times its read or if it's read at all...unless of course you're counting on your words to put food on the table, but for the most part, it's writing what is you. You're an eloquent writer Renae, you have a certain style that's you....and it defines you in a way. You've shared your hopes and dreams, you've shared a little part of your life with us....I think I can speak for some people on here, sharing your thoughts have made us richer.

Write for you....then when you graduate with a journalism degree and use words to inform and educate us....everyone wins.

I'm sure the women listed would be honored to be amongst those that have influenced you.

I forgot one.

Stephanie McMahon- I am who I am because of you, and it's a fact. When I began to watch wrestling, you were my hero. It was probably because we looked alike, but also probably because you weren't a typical female that was involved with the wrestling business. I began to mold myself in your image. It got me into some trouble in 6th grade after you turned "heel", but even today...the core elements of my personality are the core elements of the Stephanie character's personality. You really taught me how to be a "lady" when I need to be one.
