The 'Global Poverty Act' as a title sounds nice.
But there are some provisions that effect not only Amercia's finances, but your gun rights and people subject to a 'World Court'..
"The U.N. says that "The commitment to provide 0.7% of gross national product (GNP) as official development assistance was first made 35 years ago in a General Assembly resolution, but it has been reaffirmed repeatedly over the years, including at the 2002 global Financing for Development conference in Monterrey, Mexico. However, in 2004, total aid from the industrialized countries totaled just $78.6 billion - or about 0.25% of their collective GNP."
In addition the bill also would precribe..
"In addition to seeking to eradicate poverty, that declaration commits nations to banning "small arms and light weapons" and ratifying a series of treaties, including the International Criminal Court Treaty, the Kyoto Protocol (global warming treaty), the Convention on Biological Diversity, the Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination Against Women, and the Convention on the Rights of the Child.

On the surface, a nice fuzzy thought.
The reality, more of the same of summiting to the United Nations law in governing our country.

No matter what you think of the United States Britian has always been thick as thieves with this country, with the exception of that short period of time when we were able to break away...we have allied with you, and you with us. Don't think that your banking system is any less deep in this mess than we are.
Your government does not allow you the freedom of weapons, and you have cameras on street corners.......that is not the idea of freedom in this country. We left the commonwealth once for a reason, and if this country wakes up in time we may end up leaving it again.
Screw a Global economy.....if we are to see the economy fall in this country I would rather see us rebuild it as a nation with the freedoms we have, not as a global economy working for the soverignty of the existing Monarchy or whatever the new ruling class wants to be called.

was put there as a last line of defense by the People themselves, for the rights of the People, as our own Army (British Army at the time) was used against us.

2nd Amendment? Yes we have right to keep and bear arms...but US needs to initiate psychiatric backgrounds on owners and children to prevent all these school shootings. I live in Vegas - 5 shootings in a week and then some. I oppose this no-purpose murdering.
However....One World Government? Is that not why we are bombing Iraq? To prevent that? So....I don't buy into that. What Prez could kill off Bin Laden? Well...it took Congress approval to even attempt it so it's not one person, it's many...about 101 with Senators and Prez + 435 in House of Reps.
