Spring ahead baaaabeee.....

Ah, light, how I love thee! Actually, my body really does love the fact that spring is just around that old proverbial corner. March has entered like the lion it sometimes is, which means that it should be going out like a lamb. I have many friends and family that were born during this month. Both of my children: my son who was first-born was born on the exact same date as his paternal grandmother (22nd) and my daughter the following year (14th), my baby brother (29th) my second mom (my mother's sister - 28th) and now, my pseudo nephew (8th). Seems to me that June must be the horniest month ... LOL!!!

The winds that blew in last night were gale force and this morning I once again had to drag all the goats playthings back up the hill and anchor them where they belong. I watched the hawks this morning scouting for food and then just having a blast with the thermals. Life is good, and I am happy that my best male friend now has someone in his that will receive and give back that most precious commodity to us all... Love - and he is able to once again embrace this world with all his spirit and soul that had been stomped on lately.

I watched the movie, "The Brave One" with Jodie Foster over the weekend. Jodie is a powerful actress and I love her many captures of different characters mainly because she "becomes" the individual she is acting. This movie was violent as her boyfriend was beaten to death on the night they were talking about their upcoming wedding, for no reason other than because some mis-wired individuals wanted to show their superiority, wanted to make themselves feel important and strong. WTF is wrong with people? Who, on God's green earth ever gave anyone permission to f*ck with the lives of anyone else that they meet? Why is it so damn easy for people to take advantage of others? And by this I am questioning not only in terms of violence, but also in terms of the heart? This is an open question to any and all of the people out there... at the end of the day, after you have played with the affection of someone and know full damn well that you are gonna break their heart with your cold, calculating "using and abusing" attitude, what have you gained? What made what you did to someone who wanted to believe in you with their entire heart right? And better yet, who the hell do you think you are?

Jodie gave an excellent soliloquy of what it feels like after that loss. One detective asked her how she was able to put it behind her and continue and her answer was simply that she didn't, rather she became someone else... she changed, her views changed. In the movie, her grief turned her into a sort of vigilante who no longer would accept be f*cked around with by people who were hell-bent on hurt. She gave an amazing recounting of what she went through. How she changed. She wondered how it was possible to be who she was and no longer feel things because she had to learn to shut off her emotions to heal. I recommend this movie to anyone. And I am now off to finish my taxes.. .that will be enough to require at least 2 glasses of wine tonite...

For all of us who feel only the deepest love and affection for the way computers have enhanced our lives, read on.

At a recent computer expo (COMDEX), Bill Gates reportedly compared the computer industry with the auto industry and stated,

"If GM had kept up with technology like the computer industry has, we would all be driving $25.00 cars that got 1,000 miles to the gallon."

In response to Bill's comments, General Motors issued a press release stating:

If GM had developed technology like Microsoft, we would all be driving cars with the following characteristics (and I just love this part):

1. For no reason whatsoever, your car would crash........
Twice a day.

2. Every time they repainted the lines in the road, you would have to buy a new car.

3. Occasionally your car would die on the freeway for no reason. You would have to pull to the side of the road, close all of the windows, shut off the car, restart it, and reopen the windows before you could continue. For some reason you would simply accept this.

4. Occasionally, executing a maneuver such as a left turn would cause your car to shut down and refuse to restart, in which case you would have to reinstall the engine.

5. Macintosh would make a car that was powered by the sun, was reliable, five times as fast and twice as easy to drive - but would run on only five percent of the roads.

6. The oil, water temperature, and alternator warning lights would all be replaced by a single "This Car Has Performed An Illegal Operation" warning light.

7. The airbag system would ask "Are you sure?" before deploying.

8. Occasionally, for no reason whatsoever, your car would lock you out and refuse to let you in until you simultaneously lifted the door handle, turned the key and grabbed hold of the radio antenna.

9. Every time a new car was introduced car buyers would have to learn how to drive all over again because none of the controls would operate in the same manner as the old car.

10. You'd have to press the "Start" button to turn the engine off.
