When my youngest son was little if we all sat down to watch TV and it happened to be a show he'd seen before, he would begin to tell us about the show. We'd tell him to let us watch it for ourselves. So he'd start telling us about it another way so we'd tell him again, to let us watch it. It didn't matter if we sent him to his room, he call out what was going to happen next, from his room. Are you getting the picture?
Well tonight he came home from a day with his dad. It sounded like a great day out till he told me his dad's dog had killed a rabbit then his dog began eating the rabbit.
I didn't want to hear about it so I said, IF an animal kills something, yes, they should eat it but I don't like killing. Then I got up and left the kitchen.
The next thing I know he's followed me out here to tell me about the rabbit another way. "GRAHAM, I don't want to hear about the rabbit."
"Mom, I'm not going to want to talk to you unless I can tell you about the stuff that happens to me. (guess we'll be mutes then son)."
So my son is off in a snit and I'm here not in a snit at all but oh so confused.
Do women in "relationships... no let's say happily married women ('cause that's what I want to be) let their guys tell them about stuff that turns their stomach or do guys save that chit to tell other guys?

Men have (at least) more of a clue what not to talk about. Young boys do not.

It's instinct for a man to tell a woman about the hunt..even if it wasn't his kill..men look to women for approval, that's what makes men feel confident about being men. Unfortunately it doesn't happen that much any more because most women don't understand that men need their hypothalamus stroked every now and then...

By discussing the important things in their life withthe ones hwo love them most....allows children to sort THIER thoughts on how they view the world.
Personally, my child can discuss ANYTHING with me. She is mearly trying to get as many opinions as possible to help her sort all the options and come to her own conclusions.
Just my opinion though.

Sounds to me like he is trying to push your buttons, specially since he is 24 years old...He needs to respect yours and others space...At 24 he should know your likes and dislikes, as you do his...
Do women in "relationships... no let's say happily married women ('cause that's what I want to be) let their guys tell them about stuff that turns their stomach or do guys save that chit to tell other guys? In answer to your question, IMO, Its called respect and knowing each other...Its not the point of keeping secerts, its respecting others wishes...Also learning what you have to say is sometimes infringing upon the rights of others to enjoy a movie or a book, etc. without having the out come of the story revealed...To leave in a snit is childish...
I believe you handled it well, but as I said thats just my opinion...
Men who really care about their spouce will listen to a story about the quest for a little black dress.....Again the word mutual respect comes to mind...

Normally, when a rabbit is killed, the man doesn't want the woman to know because he knows it will upset her, and she will forbade him from killing one of the hoppy rodents again. So instead, he tells he killed a rodent, she approves, hugs him, lets him grope her butt in affection, and then they go on their way.
It would be helpful if you taught Graham, through illustrations of course, the proper means for sharing information in a manner the woman cannot only hear it but celebrate it with him. He shares, she hears, they fell close, he gropes, she feels touched and affirmed, and off they go...happy couple.
Me, I've always shared everything that was wild and whacky and fascinating in my world. Results in screaming, hands over ears, peals of laughter and snot being shot from nose in surprise...but damn...I get some good butt gropin!

Do men want to hear about a woman's hunt for that perfect black dress? Geez. Just try it on and if it fits....buy it. It ain't that hard so why make a big production out of it?
