Goodbye winter! It still wants to hold us in its grip here (another light snowstorm this time though). jThe sun is now out and it's just winter saying 'I've still got ya for a week 'til next year - ha ha". It will take a long while for the snow to melt as we have 104 inches here (2 from this morning).
HELLO SPRING! It's about time!
Lovely blog as usual, sweetie. Makes you appreciate the little things - life and all its creatures who are all a part of the grand scheme of things - a delicate balance of nature and we are all part of it and it is a part of us.
Kudos to you!

Nice way to start the day. Good blog, Sci.
Ok, I had to look it up....
The word Sciuridae means "shade-tail," and refers to the bushy appendage possessed by many of its members
Suddenly your name makes a lot more sense

It never ceases to amaze me, the amount of wildlife seen by the observant eye, even in suburbia.
The other night, I watched a raccoon slinking along my neighbours house across the street.
Yesterday, as a passenger driving along the highway, I saw two turkey vultures perched high in an old oak tree. They are a frequent sight, usually soaring overhead on thermals.
And my town, here in the foothills to Sierra Nevada, is home to many flocks of wild turkeys. Once, while driving my daughter to school, I had to stop in the middle of a 6 lane road to let a flock of about 20 of the birds slowly saunter across the street. At times like that, I always kick myself for not having a camera handy.
Thank you again, Sci, for another glimpse into your world.

Peregrine falcon? Oh you lucky woman! We had a house for them on the back 5 acres in hopes of them coming back to the area.
Yes, spring is here, I bet you can almost smell it can't you?

I have a visitor that comes into my attic now and again,
it's always at about 04/05hrs. It runs across just once.
It makes too much noise to be a bird or rat, do you think it's possibly a squirrel?
