It's always the struggle....never the simple solution. And, oddly enough, the solution is so simple it boggles the mind.
I read and see so much about war, hate and .... and so on and so on and so on....endless struggles all around the planet. So what? What's new?
Who cares really?
Boil it down....
The people of the world have fought over resources since the first caveman ran out of usable firewood available in his 'hood........ all this is not just about oil.....think about that.
We are still on the hunt. We each look every day for "firewood" to support our lives, the lives of our children, and loved ones. Too bad we, the gatherers, can't collect a couple extra "logs" for someone we don't know who can't gather firewood, but would be willing to trade say....ummm... a homemade cherry pie for a couple sticks........as kind of a way of life , rather than a momentary "feel good " moment. A basic change of heart and mind. But holy crap....hasn't there been enough time to figure that out yet? How much time do we need to figure we all need each other in one way or another? All the time. Isn't it becoming painfully obvious to anyone? The older I get, the more I wonder how people "gather" when their knees hurt.
Everyday we go out to gather. Not just us either. Every able person in every country is or will be looking for more and more "firewood." You don't really expect any of this to actually change do you? Or get any better without a fundamental change in the way we the people of the world think?
How can we affect a change so huge and yet so simple? Some guy named Jesus gave it a pretty good try it seems. So have a few others. Why can't we try it for a little while? Why do we HAVE TO WIN all the time? At any cost?
Why not just care about each other? Seems pretty simple to me.
But wait....there isn't going to be enough "firewood" for all of us if we all need it so bad.....so.....there ya have it. Not enough resources? or not enough compassion?
What is a guy to do? Make his cavebaby eat their Mammoth steak raw? Not MY damn cavebaby! Hell man....I LOVE my cavebaby! Only the best for him.
Who of us will be our brother's keeper first, for real? Statistics probably show we as a people and a country are very 'generous".....and yet...something is missing. We have hungry cavebabies right here, right now. And we are "gathering" in someone else's backyard without permission. It's all a bit backasswards don't cha think?
Who of us will make the sacrifice required to turn things in a positive direction?
Is it one nation at a time?
Nope.
Simpler than that folks.
One person at a time. It is how you behave that teaches those around you......
It's always been about the guy with the biggest stick, and the biggest group of followers/believers. It's always been about having enough "firewood." That is what we have taught for all these centuries, and that is what we are teaching to this very day.
Too bad more of those cave guys didn't figure out that there was probably plenty of room around the fire that they had for the whole 'hood to use and enjoy. Especially if everyone brought something...like qa kinda pot luck, umm...with out the pots....they didn't have 'em yet ya know....But... They could have taken turns at the fire in order to get what they needed instead of lives. Might have changed everything had they realized it was so easy, even a caveman could do it.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.
Sometimes I just wanna scream.
Thank you Mr. Obama, for a very thought provoking speech this morning. I have not been one of your supporters up to now, but it was a marvelous speech. I had heard you were good at it. They were right.
I love people who have hope. And faith. I wanna be inspired. I wanna a leader who inspires me to do more, and be better than I am. In other words, a true leader.
No matter who they are. Of course I want to be safe. But I would like to be a part of a solution rather than continuing this reckless course of stealing firewood from my fellow cavemen and women.
I have hope actually. Lots of it. I believe in the human race. But we got a long way to go before things are gonna get better.
A damn long way.
We haven't come as far as we think, baby.
Sorry...I gotta go....gotta go find me some damn firewood. We're having sauteed Saber Tooth tonight....over wild rice.....with a few skins of our finest grape juice. Come on over if y'all git hungry or if ya need some kind of "firewood." . There will be plenty for all.
How ya like yer steak?
Oh yeah...bring something to share k? Talent, dinner rolls.....whatever....even a stick of firewood would be fine. I got the rest.

I too watched Obama's speech.. What a man, and his wife will make a beautiful first lady.
It's been a sad 8years of not having what you talk about in the above quote. Obama is so refreshing, I want to join the peace corp or volunteer in an old folks home. A leader like Obama does just that to people. Wanting them to be better people they know they should and can be. ROCK ON TUNES

Ok Tunes....last time you threw a bash, I started walking to get there....do you even realize how many miles away you are?....do you?....well I'll tell you....1767 miles....yeppers....that is a fair piece doncha think?....of course that is probably as the crow flies..... well I started out in good faith...my little basket of rolls and my sleeping bag, and of course a change of clothes.....I walked and walked....had to warsh my duds in the crik and put em up on bushes to dry....broke down and had to eat one of the rolls....dayum was getting tired, but kept walking......a few weeks later, yep you know it, the rolls were gone....but did I quit, nope, I'm not a quitter ....had to do the survivorwoman thing....those worms and grubs are fricken nasty, I tell ya, NASTY!....but I said I would be there and so I trudged on....by this time it had begun to snow....yes snow!.....I am a southern gal....Florida, can't get much more southern than that....WE DON'T DO SNOW!....but onward I went.....finally got to yur doorstep....cold, wet, hungry and exhausted....only to find out.....the party was over...Over?....YEP, OVER!....now you are having another party and want rolls again....no way baby, not me...unless you fork over a plane ticket!

If you are planing on trying to make it to another party out here, I would keep that in mind if I were you. Haven't you been noticing how many of the people who were calling him boB before are now no where to be found?
And listen....I am not sure how you girls get around down there in ....in....what did you call that place? ....Floride? Thought that was something in toothpaste or something.....  Anyway....I would suggest that when making a trip to Wyoming....at least find yerself a good horse. Those pesky 3 foot snowstorms can come up outta nowhere, and well....dinner rolls just ain't much ta go on frankly.
Frankly? yes...actually they are quite tasty on a dinner roll......I love 'em.....

Well slap me down.....I will go grab ole Nellie from the pasture and throw a blanket on her....we be coming to your little get-together real soon..... little boB wouldn't hurt me....I'm his favorite auntie.....you may not know this, but we speak a lot.....you didn't know he sneaks on your puter when you're asleep.....so wheer did you hide the bodies? .... anyway, I think the franks would taste much better than the worms and grubs.
