She was so incredibly beautiful
She had chosen a table with her back to the western window. Her hair shattered the rays of the setting sun, sending a million diamonds dancing across the room. She made this moment and everythng around her beautiful. Tonight this resturaunt was filled with the most beautiful and intelligent crowd it had ever seen, and it was all because of her.
I caught one of the diamonds she sent dancing across the room, placed it on a band of gold and put it in my pocket for later. My heart was full of love and joy. Tonight was the night.
She smiled when she saw me crossing the room and her eyes lit up. I didn't say a word of greeting, just gave her a kiss and poured all the love that filled my heart into it.
As I sat down she said, "Romeo, we need to talk..."
My stomach lurched and I tasted vomit in my mouth. The evil red rays of the dying sun revealed what this place really was: A house of the dead. The stench of the rotting flesh the slack faced zombie patrons feasted on filled the room. I could just barely hear the inane babble of the feeble minded above the pounding in my ears.
A waiter approached our table. He looked like he was fighting a loosing battle with Down's Syndrome. I waved him away.
"Please don't make this any harder to do," she said with tears in her eyes. "My God this is hard. I don't want to hurt you, but there is some one else."
He saved your life, didn't he? I thought.
"He saved my life."
I bet you think he's your guardian angel.
"It's like he's my guardian angel or something. He is so perfect and I realize I have to be with him."
