She will never forget the night her life and that of her mother changed forever. It was a night that was no different from any other. It was around six-thirty in the evening. She was fourteen years old but would soon feel like a frightened child.
They were just finishing dinner and her sisters, which there were four, were doing the dishes when the phone rang. There was a woman's voice on the other end telling her to go and get her father. She knew by the sound of the woman's voice that she should but she said her father was sleeping and she could'nt wake him up till her mother got home.
The woman on the other end started yelling, "Its about you mother and your sitser. They have been in a terrible car accident."
What? She screamed. Her heart stopped beating, or so she thought, for just an instant. She threw the phone down and raced up the stairs screaming for her father to get the phone. He jumped out of bed and grabbed the phone.
He statred yelling and crying out loud saying, "Oh my God , No, Are they okay? Are they still alive? Where are they?
She could'nt breathe at all. Her sister's came running up the stairs frightened by the sound of their father's voice. She told them to be quiet and go to their rooms and stay. Her father quickly threw on some clothes and told her to call her grandma and ask her to come over. She did as she was told.
They all waited patiently by the phone to hear if they still had a mother and sister. They tried hard not to think that the worst had happened. They all knew that this accident was going to change all of their lives. When the phone finally rang, it was actually good news, both of them were alive but her mother had crashed through the windshield and had to have stitches. Her sister was lucky she had a broken leg and has stitches on her lip. They would both survive.
After a few days they came home. They were both bruised and scarred especially their mother. We went running towards both and hugged each other so tightly and cried for what seemed like hours. But what none of them knew at that moment was that the mother and sister they loved so dearly had actually died in that crash. These two people that walked through the door were strangers who had survived a horrible accident. None of them have been the same since that night. The closeness is gone. the once loving, caring mother had changed. She tries to be loving and caring, but she can tell it is very hard for her. She was emotionally scarred that she lost the ability to be close to her family. She always hopes her mother will return, but as of yet she has never returned.
