Do you ever wonder if you touch anyone's life in a positive way?
On occasions, something happens to make me aware that I really do touch the lives of others in a positive way. There are days in where I question my "purpose" for being here on earth. Am I doing enough to help change the world? Am I spreading the love???
Yesterday while I was at work, I was bagging groceries on register one - the express lane - and I was having a good time joyfully bantering with the customers coming through. As an amish lady was unloading her grocery cart onto the register conveyor belt, she looked up at me and said with a very loud & strong voice... "I know you & I will never forget you!" I felt somewhat puzzled over her comment so I said "excuse me?" And she said "I know you don't remember me but I remember you. Back when you worked at the hospital, you took very good care of my sick baby and I will never forget that." I blushed... don't know why and I responded with the TRUTH . . . "I absolutely LOVE babies... all babies hold a very special & sacred space in my heart." and she said "I know." Then she left.
My eyes suddenly filled with tears and I excused myself to the ladies restroom so I could splash some cool water on my face & compose myself. I had to admit that it felt good inside to know that I had touched someone's life in a positive way.
