"Be kinder than necessary, for everyone you meet is fighting some kind of battle." (thanks to Madmax for this.. gotta love that guy).. I have no idea who is famous for the quote only know that Maxx passed it along to me and I think it is worthy of sharing .. to some more than others... Good Morninggggggg MMMMMMDDDDD....
Well, what can I say, 'cept yesterday I got many gifts .. and no .. not at all the type you are thinking, nothing fancy and wrapped up all purdy, but nonetheless, Dave brought me gifts. And fer all ya out there rolling your eyes and thinking this dang ole woman has plum lost what little is left of her mind, shutey!!!
I am a lover of birds (well, all animals 'cepting those that be after my babies [goats]) and the forecast for yesterday up until Friday evening said that we would have a heavy rainfall all day. Friday evening we had a major thunderstorm that rolled through and it pushed all the rainclouds out with the rumbling and rolling of the skies. I love thunderstorms and was up and watching most of it, I digress.
Dave knows that I love certain things.. he knows my heart. So yesterday as I was mucking out the goats pen after being "stood up" by a "gentleman" that I have been seeing who was getting way too serious way too fast, I had the chance to photograph some of the beautiful birds that stop by this ole fool's feeder. There are some new pics that I loaded on my photobucket site:
Dave's gift to me on his 50th!
I have been fortunate in life... I not only have some awesome friends here who I know would help me in whatever manner they could, but I can actually tell when something is sent my way from the people I love that I am separated from. I feel them standing beside me giving me these gifts that my heart treasures... and it is not a feeling that in any way, shape or form scares me, but more than ever calms me and lets me know that even with the vastness of different worlds, love, when it is strong and true, will always be there .. we just need to open our minds, our eyes and mostly our hearts and ALLOW it in.
And for gramps:
A man, while playing on the front nine of a new complicated golf course, became confused as to where he was on the course. Looking around, he saw a lady playing ahead of him. He walked up to her, explained his confusion and asked her if she knew what hole he was playing.
"I'm on the 7th hole," she replied, "and you are a hole behind me. So you must be on the 6th hole."
He thanked her and went back to his golf. On the back nine, the same thing happened and he approached her again with the same request.
"I'm on number 14, and you're still a hole behind, so you must be on the 13th hole."
Once again he thanked her and returned to his play. He finished his round and went to the clubhouse where he saw the same lady sitting at the end of the bar.
He asked the bartender if he knew the lady. The bartender said that she was a sales lady and played the course often.
He approached her and said, "Let me buy you a drink in appreciation for you r help. I understand that you're in the sales profession. I'm in sales also. What do you sell?"
"I'll tell you, but you're going to laugh," she replied.
"No, I won't."
"Well, if you must know," she answered, "I work for Tampax."
With that, he laughed so hard he almost fell off the bar stool.
"See," she said. "I knew you'd laugh!"
"That's not what I'm laughing at," he replied, "I'm a salesman for Preparation H, so I'm still a hole behind you.

When I read the first line of the quote...I thought, "I just read that somewhere", and then of course I read on, realizing the same person had passed it on to me...lol. And the circle gets bigger with every orbit......isn't life grand that way?
The 2nd spring after my dad died, one solitary tulip bulb he had planted, produced a bloom. It hadn't bloomed in years. That spring, I was diligently going about finding all the bulbs and plants that were hidden in weeds and overgrowth. I was successful at finding a lot of them. I missed the tulip bulbs because he had planted them, in Dad fashion, under lilac bushes. The bushes grew huge and the tulip bulbs found themselves battling the shoots of too many baby lilacs.
One day while working in the yard on 'cleanup', I had my camera out and as I was scanning the yard, I spied a splash of red under the lilac. And what to my amazement and total wonder did I find? A single tulip. A clear sign? I think so.
Thanks for sharing thoughts that stirred my pot of memories.
