(This is a rant, if you do not wish to read it, move along, please.)
Okay.. if you look at my profile, it states that I am in a relationship and all I am looking for is friends, does it not?
That is exactly what it says.
I get this email this morning (This is the second or third email I've received like this.):
how are u doing today, am new to this online dating, so when i saw you and read through your profile i can see we are match and we can build a relationship that will lead to happy family home together that is why i contact you maybe we can get hooked up my name is smith the you care to talk with me some on time or chat with me /my email address is ------ my chatting id is ---------- pls get back at me now ok
Now, obviously he did not read my profile before he emailed me. This is one of my biggest pet peeves. I can't stand it when people just blindly email you and don't even look at your profile to even see what you're here for.
"i can see we are match and we can build a relationship that will lead to happy family home together"
Not in this lifetime. I've found who I want to build a family with. He just happens to be half a retard, but I still love him.
I know a short and bitchy rant, but goddamn, read their profile before you profess your love to them and start making wedding plans. Idiots.

Allright, look: I'm saying this in your blog, but I'm kinda directing it towards everybody that's posted this same essential blog before:
This is a free site; and one of it's downfalls is that it is free to scammers as well as legitimate people. Scammers love free sites; it saves them having to pony up the 10 or 20 bucks they would have to on one of the other sites...they basically (I'm guessing) pick a certain age group or other demographic, then copy&paste the same letter to all of them, hoping for a bite. The best thing you can do: report them to the mods; get 'em thrown off the site. Don't get infuriated; what they do is about as targeted to you personally as junk mail or a telemarketing call. They're not looking for love either-just your money, or your green card.

My basic way of dealing with emails I receive from people I don't know: if they don't mention something from my profile, I automatically assume they're a scammer.
Well, that and they just joined the website, they are from a different part of the country, they are wildly outside my age range, they send me an email address at which to contact them, and a dozen other clues...
It was a scammer, CarnalSins.

Now, if you want someone to proposition you inappropriately, I'm sure we can come up with a few volunteers...

Now, if you want someone to proposition you inappropriately, I'm sure we can come up with a few volunteers... I've already made a few double-entendres toward her-but it's her own fault; makin' herself look like Donna Pinciotti form "That 70's Show..."

I totally agree... I get them all the time... They don't read... They send out 100 of them a day... I've even got one from the same scammer three times...
