My fellow Matchdoctor Members,

I believe it's time for all us singles who have been through the online dating mill to band together united with hands on hearts and declare we're not going to take any more crapola!

I look around this site and among the bullshitters there are so many decent men and women who are looking to meet someone. We're not looking for the earth, we're not looking for the impossible and yet somehow love still alludes us. Ever wondered why?

It has been pointed out to me tonight by someone wiser than me [although I kind of already knew it - just kept pushing it to the back of my mind] that WE attract the messers, liars, players, piss-takers, dorks, love rats, committmentphobes, all the unsuitable types. In some way we might be lowering our standards or believing on some level we don't deserve better. Maybe we're just too trusting and giving even when we know we're being taken advantage of, and that's why we're not winning this game of love.

So I'm starting a club here and these are the rules.

1. We must look at ourselves in the mirror every day and tell ourselves how beautiful, special and deserving of the best we are.

2. We must visualise in our minds eye our perfect partner. They can be as beautiful, handsome, rich and successful as we want them to be. Write out a wish list if it's easier. No personal quality is too much to ask, just go for it.

3. We must know in our hearts and minds that we deserve the very best and that when this person comes along we will fulfill their every want and desire without even trying.

4. We must always have the highest standards and not just give any old person a chance just because they stopped by. That's the goodness in us not being able to say "no" but we must learn to. Anyone who does not have all the necessary credentials are just psychic vampires drawn to our need to be loving and giving.

5. We must only talk/write about the good ones - ignore the bad because the Universe doesn't know the difference between good and bad, it just hears us talking about it and sends us more - Yeah, yeah, yeah, I'm sooooooo guilty of this one.

6. We must believe that there are good people out there for us and never give up even though sometimes it feels like the only thing to do.
