I look at profiles and photos and I am really amazed at the number of knuckleheads whose first words for a pretty lady is "Damn you are sexy" or "hit me up, you sexy thang" or something stupid like that. First off, most of the ones saying this, are 30 years older than the woman they are making a comment to. Now I am not a stud, I am not a model, but dang, some of these guys could not get picked up if they were paying for it. To me, it is not a compliment to say something like "Hey sexy, will you be my mate?" a compliment is, "You are a very pretty lady, I hope you find what you deserve."
I am 44, stocky and have a bald spot, but I am something most aren't and that is honest and not here just to get laid. If most guys on here would just relax and maybe get to know some of the nice ladies, they would have a little better luck, but if you are just out to get laid, put it in the search and use the keywords!

You certainly hit the nail on the head with this one! Those people who conduct themselves in this manner are the ones who make this process so difficult & discouraging for those of us who have sincere intentions. I don't know what men feel like if a woman makes a sleazy comment to them, but I know as a woman, it's very degrading...........well at least, for most woman. Just like men, quite a few woman invite that sort of mentality....to each his own I guess. But my opinion is that if a man reads a woman's profile & there is no indication that what she is looking for is just a "roll in the hay", why are you gonna email her with some trash talk?  I swear some people don't even bother to read a person's profile. The worse part is that they really don't care if it offends that person or not.........they just act ignorant & don't care.
I guess all we can do is keep our heads up & not lose faith.

You are ONLY able to see those comments on PHOTOS because they have been APPROVED by the PERSON whose profile was looked at.
So while I agree somewhat with your premise on "first impressions" it is not ONLY the "knuckleheads" as you say that are screwed up.
To be fair both genders are equally to blame.

On the approved comments. Correct me if I'm, cause I sure could be...that you have 2 option. Auto approve or approve each one for photo comments. If you choose the former, a comment could be up for days before you realize you don't want it there, versus the latter option where you have to approve each one, which may be time consuming. Not to mention, lot of folks aren't aware and go with the default.
Good blog. Can say that It feels invasive and degrading to receive an intial email like that. Can also be amusing in the sense that they didn't have the intelligence to read your profile first.

You are a sincere man who understands that some women do not find those obtuse comments endearing.
I, too, have seen my fair share of women leaving rather tacky comments, which in my mind scream, "I am so looking for a sexual partner and hoping you are also"..
