Tonight it's blackened tilapia, mixed greens of kale, turnips, and mustard, southern style, and thick sliced beefsteak tomatoes.

MaggieMae's coming over for leftovers, I couldn't wait! Sorry Cancun!

and no, Gman, all my sisters now live in GA, except one, in CA! as far as I know

and Cookie, here is my blackened recipe:

1/2 c paprika
4T savory
4T basil
2T garlic powder
2T onion powder
(for fish) 3T dill
(for port) 3T sage

add chili powder as you wish for fire. Mix well, the seasonings will be coarse. For finer mixture use a mortar and pestle.

Sprinkle generously on both sides of the meat/fish, and pan sear each side until the fish is flaky, or meat is done to taste.

Enjoy!

Sounds absolutely delicious HL

I use raw kale & mustard leaf pieces in salad frequently.
It really spices things up a bit.
Beefsteak maters and blackened tilapia. Oh yeah !!

I Love Kale, and it looks so pretty in the garden...

Okay Mod-- but glad you joined the feast tonite.... we'll consider it a farewell meal.

I love raw kale in salad, but the mustard's a bit too spicy for me. Regular lettuce seems limp after the real deal in salad-- this Lass can easily say, cooking for one is fun!

Sugar, when we travel to our exotic locale we'll have to sample the food!

Red, can you eat that kind of kale? I know it's planted as ornamental, guess I'm too timid to test it! It's so healthy and full of good stuff, I love it too.

I normally eat only Haddock . But I sometimes marinated it in white wine, with a touch of Thyme and a pinch of parsly . And, mix it all up with some mixed vegetables . Such as fresh green peppers, mushrooms and onions .
Then I cut it all in small pieces and throw it all on some egg noodles .

Sounds like a yummy meal. Hope ya don't mind, I copied your recipe, too. Tilapia is pretty good eats no matter how it's prepared. But, since it's crappie season here, I'll give it a try on some fresh fillets soon.

Thanks for sharing! Enjoy!!
