About a decade ago we had Britney Spears. Here was a 16 year old dancing and singing on a video like she was some sort of sex symbol. Old men(to include Bob Dole) were watching her video with lust in their eyes. I know that the Bob Dole commercial was a spoof but it still went to show the attitude of a lot of men about Britney. Now we are talking about a little girl who was underage at the time.
Fast forward to today. Today the latest teen sensation is Miley Cyrus, aka Hannah Montana. Here is a teenager who is only 15 years old. 15! But despite her age, the magazine Vanity Fair has taken and going to put in their next issue some provocative pictures of this 15 year old. Need I remind you she is only 15? Why would anyone want to take provocative pictures of a little girl this age? Better yet, who would want to see provocative pictures of a 15 year old? This is shocking.
This is a classic example of adults failing our youths. How can this happen and wasn't there any adults involved with this asking if this is the right thing to do? Vanity Fair justifies all this by claiming no responsible adult respresenting Miley Cyrus objected to it and infact were there at the shoot. Wow! If this is true then Miley is in serious need of new role models in her life. This is so sad and pathetic. Sick actually.
May I remind people that this girl isn't even old enough to have a drivers license. Now 15 year old boys might get attracted to her but I am sure there are no 15 year old boys buying Vanity Fair. So who is the magazine marketing these photos too? Old men?
This does not speak well for where our society is going morally. These children need to remain children and not some sort of sex symbol for the truly perverted. I mean besides perverts, who wants to see a 15 year old this way? Or, maybe this explains why there are so many adults having sex with our children lately? In any event, something has to be done to stop this. Otherwise what is next, naked teens as long as adults supervise it?
Let our children be children and when they become adults then let them decide if they want to do this or not. Lets be responsible adults and watch out for the welfare of our children, not exploit them for money.

Well, when you have a father, Billy Ray Cyrus, who's claim to fame is the theft of his No.1 single "Achey Breaky Heart", I hope I have the title right, then you have one hell of a role model! A thief!
So, yes, I can see him exploiting his little girl just to claim the lime light one more time!
What a dad!

This does not speak well for where our society is going morally. What do you mean Going, it's been there for quite awhile...
It's sad, childhood goes by so quickly anyway and kids like this really never get a chance to be a kid.

whether we like it or not, it is all about money, publicity, and fame. The only thing you can do is to boycott, protest, and whatever. But do not disgrace the 15 year old. This is hollwood at its finest. Remember Payton's Place was modeled after Hollwood.
I think it is Britty or one of the other singers who ias having a lot of trouble with drugs has a 16 year old sister who is expecting a baby. Where is the law. No matter what she is under age to have sex. But it is totally ok with the law and the family.
So, you see, if we look there are more serious problems

Justsayyeah......I couldn't agree with you more. I briefly heard about this on the radio. If I heard right, they were topless photos. Her handlers, who ever that is, has her apologizing as she is affiliated with Disney. What were they thinking to begin with? She is already is very wealthy.

supposedly this was going to be an "artistic" shoot of Miley, but they are trying to over-promote this kid. I guess they learned nothing from Brittany's problems.......
btw, this is the same photographer who took the photos of Queen Elizabeth and hacked her off to the point where Her Majesty called a halt to the session and left.
what were they thinking? it's all about money.
so sad.

I've seen the pictures, they are artistic and done by an acclaimed photographer who specializes in this type of photography.
...I don't think little girls should be posed seductively for pics but hey, at least it was Annie taking the pics and not her father selling them to pedophiles. Which is something that does happen to little girls and boys all over the world.
They are exploited worse than some bare shoulders, a bra strap and some lipstick!

I found the pics to be artistic if it were a mature women posing for them, however, Miley is SUPPOSE to be a tween role model, therefore, I found the pics to definitely be appealing to pedophiles. She is ONLY 15 years old and I watch her on tv with my daughters and considered her show to be wholesome enough to enjoy. The pics are not vulgar but they do send out the wrong message for a girl her age.
Being that her father is already in show business I would think he would have used better judgment. I'm disappointed in her parents allowing her to take her clothes off for a photo shoot in the first place and NOT think that something provocative was going to come out of it, even if she is covered in a sheet.
