Spoke with nurse Tricia and Piper is doing well tolerating tube feeds through NG 10 cc/hr with and she's still on the TPN and they will try breastfeeding more tomorrow. The lacatation team has been working with Jesi so hopefully, Piper will start getting used to nursing and taking a bottle again soon.
She's on room air, no oxygen at all and her incision looks great!!!
Her platelets are 111, which is the highest they've EVER BEEN!!!!
Her liver enzymes look good, last checked on 26th and her PT was 14.1 and INR 1.
1, both of which are great!!!
Neurologically she's very appropriate and her blood pressure has been near perfect. They've had some trouble with it because as she's coming off the pain and anxiety medications (which they are still weaning her from), it causes her blood pressure to rise. Her Hematocrit is 31 and her Hemoglobin is 11... can't ask for better than that!!!!
And.... STILL NO FEVER!!!!!!!!!!!
I'm in awe at how well she's progressing, even though she's still not out of the woods yet and won't be for some time.
As always, I'll continue to keep you all posted as information becomes available to me!
And... PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! Continue to donate blood and plasma so others have the chance at life that YOU ALL have given to Piper!!!
And PLEASE, PLEASE, PLEASE!!! Continue to pray for the family who's selfless gift gave our Piper a chance at a new life through the loss of their own precious baby.
