Have you ever been with a group of people sharing stories and felt the energy flowing between you, like a living, breathing entity? Each person shares their story, they receive encouragement, laughs or tears and when the time comes to leave, everyone feels that somehow they've made this special connection that could last forever. That’s how I see the blogs here at MD.
Most of us come here because it’s a dating site. We huddle together hiding from the big bad wolf called SINGLE and when one of us is brave enough to stick a toe in the dating pool, we either tell them to look out for the sharks, or we cheer them on from the sidelines hoping that one day we’ll be the next one chosen to step out into coupledom. The blogs are just another way to see that we aren’t going through this alone.
Through reading blogs I have: sat across the table in a diner with a music store owner as he encouraged a waitress to expect more from life, gone to prison with a single mother, felt the pain of losing a brother, held my breath as tiny squirrels were returned to the wild, felt the exhilaration of completing a century ride on a bicycle, envied a group of women who encourage each other with a “giving basket” and cried with more than one mother who just lost a child.
Can you blame us for protecting this home, this connection we've found with others and not want it to be turned to crap?
Does it matter who the best blogger is? Not one bit. What DOES matter is that there should be so much good here that its difficult to DECIDE who the best blogger is. Why put up with the petty games when there’s so much GOOD stuff here to read? The more the bad is encouraged, then the more bad there’ll be until that's all that's left.
Everyone has a story and you don't have to be a good writer to tell it. Stop hiding behind the jokes and the silly stuff with nothing but emoties and let us see the real you. Be authentic. Tell me your story

Ah, now some of you understand why the older MD people love it here. We formed these kinds of friendships a long time ago. Now we have new friends to add to the list, thanks to MD bringing the message boards back.

Wonderful Annie. Blogland does seem to be a family table that we all gather around to share the good and bad times with each other. The stories bring us close and help to remind us that we are not out there alone.
True..........personal stories make it easier to get to know who someone is, but just as in real life.........an occasional joke or some humor is needed to break the tension and give us all a chance to catch our breath before the next story begins.

You lady have put this whole blog thing in complete prospective! I feel like I know so many people here through their blogs and my life has been touched in so many ways. I hear people put down a lady that has shown me personally much and helped me with a real problem. Did she have to? No but she did. Thanks Sci. I have another friend here that listens to me when I am at my end and laughs with me. Thanks heart sis. I could go and on but people you get the point. We are real people. We may not agree but damn the nastiness is taking over. Thank you for an awesome blog and reality check ~*~

"like water off a duck's back".....just let it flow. Sometimes we seem to run into these toxic oil spills, however; and it's difficult to shake it off. MD becomes a less welcome place to share one's story(s). Good blog, AnnieGirl.

"Stop hiding behind the jokes and the silly stuff with nothing but emoties and let us see the real you. Be authentic." Annie, I salute you and the handful of seminal writers here (and most of you are female ) that keep managing to pull out their innards, stir the entrails and expose to the willing your flashing insights into our common humanity. That's bravery.
You don't get a kudo from me, girl; you get my respect.

Does it matter who the best blogger is? Not one bit. What DOES matter is that there should be so much good here that its difficult to DECIDE who the best blogger is. Best Blogger?? Who cares? It is all subjective ...what do you like to read? sheesh
Myself If there is more than 15 or 16 comments I avoid it, because I don't want to shift through all the BS. So I miss out on all the blog war stuff, and disention between the bloggers stuff.
It is fun though to share days and evenings with folks doing different things. Some evenings it is like sitting around the table and playing cards...I know ...I know those aren't considered blogs, but what the hey it is fun to share at a round table some times.

Not everyone is a good writer, nor should they be expected to be. Some contribute through great writings, some through mediocre writings, some through down right bad writings, others jokes, yet others who blog to get people laughing and brighten possibly a dismal day. The point is everyone should be able to contribute without fear of retribution or ridicule. If that is what you're saying in this blog than I agree. If you are limiting a person's form of expression then I don't agree. But I am glad for the opportunity to comment, regardless.
