Why are people voting for Barack Obama? This puzzles me. What does he stand for? Do people who are voting for him know what he stands for? All I ever hear him say is change. Change what? He doesn't say. I do not know much about Mr. Obama except for the news reports about who he hangs around with or is influenced by. His wife is not happy with America and said recently that for the first time in her adult life she is proud of America. Huh? Why wasn't she proud of it before? He does business with and is on friendly terms with the known terrorist Bill Ayres. He is spiritually influenced by, was married by and had his children baptized by a Pastor who spreads hatred in his church, gave an award to Louis Farrahkan(a known racist) and is now telling everyone that Barrack believes as he does only since Barrack is a politician he tells the public what they want to hear. This is his own pastor saying this about him. As far as his policies go I have only heard 2 of them. Raise taxes for one(since I make more than $75,000 per year I will be targeted for an increase, that is no good). The other policy I hear from him is that he will pull the troops out of Iraq no matter the cost. I am willing to bet that once he takes office, if he takes office, there is no way he will pull troops out of Iraq and he will blame President Bush as the reason why. I am guessing that he will say President Bush wasn't giving us the whole picture about Iraq and from what he has learned since he took office, there is no way he can take the troops out now.
If I am missing something then someone needs to tell me what it is because I don't get the fascination with this man. Or are democrats voting for him strictly because he is a democrat and they vote democrat no matter who the candidate is? I am an Independent so I don't care if we have a democrat or a republican in the office as long as the man is a good man(or woman). I don't care what color you are, race you are, sex you are or faith you are. If you are good for this country then you should be President. But wouldn't we be better off with either McCain or Clinton in the office rather then Barrack? At least with those 2 you know what you are getting, but with Barrack you are getting an unknown who hangs out with people who are not very good influences. I just hope that if he does win that he proves me how I was wrong about my thoughts about him.

He is the smartest of the 3 and GW cannot carry his coat. He is the best thinker. He is for the people. Just look who is backing him--not trash but well educated people.

I'm with Kentuck, Mission_Impossible and Union Man on this one. McCain WILL lose and lose BIG. 4 more years of Bush policies with McCain this country could NOT tolerate. Bringing back the draft; starting wars with Syria, Iran and China (why doesn't McCain just SAY he wants to start World War 3 and be done with it) - his major foreign policy speech out of his own mouth in March saying he wants to throw Russia out of the G8 group (why doesn't he just say he wants to reignite the cold war with Russia and be done with it) not to mention him being totally out of touch with the reality of the middle class, poor and struggling elderly and his being in all those lobbyists' pockets who not only supported his campaign but he now has WORKING on his campaign and you can see that this is one man who is frightening. Add his well known hair trigger temper and his habit of using gunpowder for toothpaste (or is that denture paste) and you have a man who WILL lose Thank You GOD!

OBAMA is the greatest of the three choices for our country. After 4 years of him, with a democratic congress,,,,,,,it will be a wholesale landslide back to conservatism for both the congress and the president in 4 years. Mr. Obama's voting record is the most liberal of any senator, so I'm not listening, I researching. The last time we had both a democratic president, and democratic congress,,,,,let's see,,,,,rising fuel costs and Jimmy Carter. That worked well !!!!
I think OBAMA has half the message right. Washington is messed up, and they mess up regular people trying to just get by. I don't agree with his thought of fixing it,,,,,steal money from people who earned it to give it those who did not earn it.
Let's look at a supporter, and what he thinks OBAMA stands for...
Education, I saw the add. Obama wants to hire more teachers and give teachers a raise. With what money is he going to do that with? Second, why would you give a raise to a bunch of people who are failing at their job? If you mean fire all of them, raise the rate of pay, and then readvertise the job to attract the best and brightest to the job,,,,,then just tell me how to pay for it. I don't think the teacher's union would go for that, since it is not in their charter to promote the best teachers, only the ones that pay their dues.
insurance for everyone, AGAIN, who is going to pay for it? Second, all you are going to do is either drive up the price of medical services, or cause a shortage of qualified medical help. Just like tuition grants given to the students resulted in tuition jumping the same amount.
INSURANCE is a term that means, buying a guarantee to protect myself from unforeseen financial impact, by financing the loss through a thrid party. Seems like some people think INSURANCE means, gaurenteed health care. It does not.
(HERE IS WHERE OBAMA COULD MAKE AN IMPRESSION) - If you want to make medical services affordable, don't change the medical system, change the COURT system. Ask any medical doctor how much of the cost of their services goes to pay for their mal-practice insurance, or the amount of the cost of medication that goes to pay product liability premiums, and you will be shocked. I have heard figures ranging from 30 to 50%. Limit the amount of damages one can receive from lawsuits, and put a cap on the legal fees, and the cost of health care will fall, to a point that people who want it, could pay for it themselves. After all, you can't tell me that a retired person who got the wrong medication and died is or was worth 10 million dollars. If they were so damn finnancially important to the family, they should have had life insurance.

I'll drop the tax on the balance, if she agrees to go back to getting only 10 dollars per month. The tax should be on the balance, i.e.,,,,,THE INCOME. But hey, this is just OBAMA trying to get the senior vote. If you want to fix taxes, why don't we just go to a flat tax. Same percentage no matter how much you make, how many children you spit out, how bad your investments were, etc., etc. Then we could cut the do-do out of the IRS, since the rules just got easier. Then do away with withholding. No more governement holding your money. You write a check every week to the government for your taxes. If everyone had to do that, I think we would be amazed about how much tolarence we would not have for pork barrel spending, and special interest projects.

,,,,,I'll just see if we can find David Duke to make some public speaking remarks about Ron Reagan Jr.,,,,and then we'll be ready to go in 4 more years.

I always listen to what they have to say ... but back in my mind some where is this little voice saying .. they are all gonna say what they think you want to hear .. then when they get into office .. then it will be .. well I tired but no one would back me up... so I take everything they say with a grain of salt.

I'm with the Lady above. If anyone thinks we won't be spending more money on war they are crazy. If people think the food and gas crisis is going to get solved or better, again they are dreaming. This administration who sends the bills to the President won't change much, with all the best advisors in the country, no one has all the answers. Some administrations have more catastrophies in the four years while in office than others. Take a look thru history, some Presidents had it easy, nothing big happened during their term. Others got hit hard, dealing with World Wars, weather tragedies with flood and fires, and you name it. Scriptures say ten countries will be at war all at the same time as a sign of End of Times, this hasn't even happened yet, I expect it to and the next President will get the blame.

This blog is playing itself out. Only one person who wrote a comment mentioned why they are voting for Barrack, and this person wrote that if I don't listen to Barrack then I must be a bigot. I guess to kill debate you make crazy accusations like that. The rest who are supporting Barrack never gave reasons why he would make a great president, all I read is people putting down McCain. So again I ask, what is it about Barrack and his policies that his supporters like? This is still a mystery to me.
