Some people are too stupid to live.
Others are too stupid to be allowed to live. The rest of the world gets their collective panties in a bunch every time the United States decides to invade a country and clean up its damn act. I listen to liberal yammering all day long about how awful the war is in Iraq and how we need to stop imposing our military might over other nations because it makes people unhappy. Wahhhhhhhh..!!!!!
The world is a safer place today because we invaded Iraq and Afghanistan...period. No incidents like 9/11 in almost seven years on American soil...because we are killing these a-holes where they live and breed. That's progress, ladies and gents. And I served my country. So unless you've stood down range of an AK-47 in your lifetime, don't piss and moan about military strategy. You bask in the safety and freedom bought and paid for by men and women who know the true meaning of service and sacrifice. Your agenda doesn't mean squat to us.
Now, I'd like to turn our attention and that our our Commander in Chief to the situation in Myanmar. The country is controlled by a military governement that is so ruthless, corrupt and retarded, that they have seized all the aide that was sent to them and refuse to provide it to their people...shutting down all future aide, for all intents and purposes. There's a chance nearly 100,000 people were killed by that cyclone and many more will die from malaria and other ailments unless help is given, but this militay junta won't budge.
I say it's time to budge them.
If all of these bleeding hearts want to claim our presence is wrong in Iraq and Afghanistan, would they object equally to us slaughtering a bunch of want-to-be Myanmar soldiers in the name of controlling the flow of aide into the country and possibly saving a quarter of a million lives? Or are we truly supposed to be this isolationist nation that sits back in our Lazy-Boy recliners eating filet mignon while human beings suffer and die so IDIOTS can play all-powerful ruler of a country that they are strangling to death and we can be peace-loving hippies?
I honestly want to know your opinion and will post all replies...whether you agree or disagree.
I woke up angry this morning!!
Semper Fi....

That makes alot of sense.
If they refuse our help, let's kill them so we can save them...

Bush's Military Strategy. Those three words don't belong together. What strategy? Cannon fodder for our young men is all it is. What a waste of blood and treasure Iraq has been.

It's a numbers game, Joshua.
We kill 5,000 to save 250,000. Yes, it makes perfect sense.
We leave behind healthy people with a democratic government and wrestle a nation from the clinically stupid.

It sounds like some people would rather be watching the rubble of another smoldering skyscraper in another American city on CNN rather than do what must be done to stop terror where it grows. How quickly we forget. The freedom and safety of a country does not come free or cheap.

Bad idea.

we got the tech, the training, but stuck in old world war fare. It wasnt so long ago that we would just line up in a row and shoot at each other. Im for removal of bad people making bad happenings. But we can be smarter. When the broad sword doesnt work a dagger may do. 3am extractions.

I agree with your opinion of the trash that is currently "governing" Myanmar. However, war on a third front is not in the cards for the U.S. at this time. We have our hands full in Iraq and Afghanistan. And I'm sure that our military is currently preparing for the inevitable war with Iran, that many Washington insiders predict will happen before the end of the Bush term. You said it yourself, freedom does not come free, and the rest of the world can not always count on the U.S. to come to the rescue. Perhaps it it time for the people of Myanmar to pay the price for freedom, and take back their own country.

We are damned if we do and damned if we don't. During the tragedy of the Tsumani we were criticized because we didn't help soon enough and send enough aide and money. So now we want to send aide and it's still the wrong thing. Even when Iran had that bad earthquake, they wanted our money but not physical help. Seems no matter if we help or not, people will find a way to run down the USA

Simply put, the people need help and should be allowed to recieve it. It's another tragedy to add to what they have just been through.
Once again, soooooooooo glad I am Canadian.

I agree with alot you said fighting, I have a son in the National Guard and he wants nothing more than to go over to Iraq and serve his country. BUT.........when is enough, enough? Other countries in this world want our money with no strings attached and then turn around and bad mouth us, insult our country and our people. Tell me would you loan anyone like that your personal money, ha wait, you are! We have so little to say ( the individual person ) People that we put in office have made all these decisions for us and a lot of that sucks. We have people in this country losing their homes, can't afford to eat, denied state aid such as food stamps, medicaid, federal aid is being cut back more and more, schools are suffering etc etc etc! I could go on forever. So tell me where is the line drawn? I don't know about everyone else but I think charity needs to start at home more! We need to worry more about the home front and Social Security something that everyone has paid into their entire working lives and may or may not recieve any! It would totally piss me off if we got involved in another countries issues. I feel horrible that people are suffering elsewhere, but you know something as I said there are ALOT of people suffering right here at home. what about them?

The fact is.. the people there know little about the outside world.
They only know about thier own people and thier own laws inflicted upon them.. and thats the way thier government..(if you want to call it that).. want to keep it.
Thier generals sit in weath while thier people are in poverty.. being aware of wealth outside of thier own country may make them aware of whats happening to them,, and the Generals dont want that!!
Great blog.
I agree.. invade and help these poor people.. for all they know.. they think the rest of the word dont care.. when we do.

Get the energy bill for Iraq from Bush before you go into Burma...
Or Iran...
Ain't worth it... although I understand your compulsion to get rid of the military shitheads in Burma... Right with you there. but who wants to replace them?
They think they can run the economy, the educational system, the health service, the tourist industry and disaster aid... and they are SO wrong.
The truth is, they can't even run the military.
Ask Aung San Suu Kyi .
Or us Brits. We pulled out of ALL those places, Iran, Iraq, Burma, Sudan, Middle East... latest 60 years ago... truth is, it wasn't worth the responsibility we had to take for it. And we DID have to take the responsibility... expensive.

Latest update is finally Monday they are allowing supplies from the USA and other countries. It wasn't just the USA that couldn't help, they were stopping help from other countries as well. I pray these people get the help they need and don't die due to more politics, a life is worth saving.

That's right imlost, they need help big time... and I wish it was that easy to get rid of the military government, I really do.
Americans and others don't need to die for that, I really hope it can be done with direct aid now.
You know, Britain left Iraq, Burma etc. less than 60 years ago and they left all those countries with a parliament and an elected government. I don't know what goes wrong, but it does.

WoW...I cant believe some of the comments here!! And Kat, before I forget...we bacame KEEPER OF THE WORLD when we decided to keep Our freedom...so hard to understand? U let one dickhead gain rule in one place and then he has double the soldiers to fight and capture the rest of the world. Anyone remember Hilter????? Who stopped HIM???? Sure as hell wasnt the French. Hummm, let me think...I believe it was .....yes...AMERICA...the keeper of peace. Where would we be now had the brave men and women of America gotten involved? Kissing Hitlers old ass...thats where ...most probably!
Now lets say we were in the same position as Myanmar. Lets say Bush was the ruler ( a strech I know) and he was keeping all the food and clean water, everything sent to help ur kids and mothers and fathers etc. after such a horrible trial as they have already suffered.....would u want someone to get rid of the problem so help could come thru?? I sure would. .......and maybe being in Irac hasnt helped as much as we would like, but as Kyle pointed out...no featherheads dropping anymore bull on American soil...so yeah, its done something pretty great. Going back to my corner now....just my 2 cents.
