Happy Mother's Day to All You Mom's reading this.
My close friend Betty Y****** as some of you know from following my blogs lately is a semi-finalist in America's Favorite Mom Contest. She was flown to Los Angeles on Friday night (Saturday morning our time) for the taping tonight of the show (4 PM Pacific Time - 7 PM Eastern Time here). She will be on The Donny and Marie Mother's Day Special on NBC. No, I don't work for NBC and no promotion of the show here, but I am VERY proud of my friend who founded Birthright in Dover, NJ; wound up raising two beautiful girls alone when her husband died suddenly of a heart attack; put them through college only to wind up being a breast cancer survivor but through it all put everyone in her life first. She gives of her time, energy, love, devotion and materially to those less fortunate than she has been and looks on the bright side. She has done a lot of good for a lot of people me included.
So if you would like to see her and these other remarkable Mom's, tune in. With all the violence; tragedy, selfishness and hatred we see on the boob tube regularly, it's nice to see something uplifting for a change. There are some truly remarkable women in the semi-finalist competition my friend included.
