In any situation involving hand to hand combat against a lethal adversary, these three skills will greatly improve your odds of survival. Using a 21 Inch Extendable Police Security Baton in your left hand if you're right handed. Extend the baton, and hold it with the tip extending down your forearm. This is used as a shield protecting your forearm and your body against a club, bat, pipe or sword strike. And they are easily carried on a belt. If in a situation where you have no baton, a tree blanch will suffice.
Another weapon that should be carried with the baton, is a straight razor. When your adversary strikes you, you deflect his first and only blow with your baton. As you step in towards his face, with the straight razor in your right hand, as fast as you can bring it to his carotid artery. Step back and watch the expression on his face. And make sure you smile, because this is the last time your enemy will ever see the expression on your face knowing that you enjoyed slaughtering him.
If you and your lethal enemy have no weapons, then this mortal combat technic will work. Step into your enemy's face, with your left hand, if you're right handed, grab the back of his neck. With your right hand, plunge your thumb and middle finger into his eye sockets and break the eye socket membrane, touching your two fingers together, locking on to his skull like a bowling ball. If there is a concrete wall behind him, then lift him up off his feet and thrust the back of his skull into the wall, exploding his skull. If there is a concrete floor, then use the same technic, but on the floor instead. And don't worry about him fighting back. He'll have both hands wrapped around your wrist trying to pull your fingers out of his eye sockets, which gives you better leverage on lifting him off his feet and crushing his skull.
I was taught these technics from Vietnam vets. And I also saw covert war footage from Vietnam, using these combat skills. It's sick, but it worked.
