Ok someone asked for our happy blogs and here is mine the best day I ever had was about 2 years ago. I went to my grandmas house and she had just finished hanging out her humming bird feeders. I went to her and told her (as this little old lady sat in her huge recliner that seemed to swallow her whole) that I have never seen a humming bird, other then in pictures. She say come sit with me and watch. So I climbed into this chair with her and laid my head on her shoulder just as I did when I was about 7, now mind you I was 36 at the time. We sat together in this chair and watched out the window, talking like we always did. About 15 mins. later I see the flutter of the tiny wings thought it was a bee, and low and behold it was the first humming bird I had ever seen. Then along came 4 more it was the most beautiful thing I have ever seen. The tattoo on me leg symbolizes' that very special day. I did lose her last year on Febuary 9, 2007 and Febuary 10, 2008 I was able to get the tattoo and the memory forever engraved in my soul and now my leg too.

Wow, this gave me chills...such a touching moment that'll live in your memory forever -- and in ours.
Thank you for sharing...what a tribute, too, to Grandma and your hummingbird discovery with your colorful "forever" tattoo.
~*~
...you certainly don't sound "jaded" anymore.
PS...plant a fast growing trumpet vine where you are now...and Grandma's "messengers" will come back to visit you.

That's a beautiful memory of your grandmother and a touching tribute to that memory to have it tatted on you.
...I lost my nanny when I was in my 20's and I still used to climb in her chair and sit on her knee. I loved her so much.

The Trumpet vine is a good idea, and also Honey suckle too.
A nice warm memory to keep forever too.
