At the all knowing and worldly age of 16 I was fortunate to land a job with BC Parks for the summer. When I applied I had no idea where I would be sent....and to me it didn't matter, as long as it wasn't Champion Lakes Provincial Park as that was only 45 minutes from home and just wouldn't do. The day finally came when my package arrived and I discovered I was going to be spending my summer in Mount Robson Provincial Park. This is the highest peak in the Canadian Rockies, known for how few days the peak is not engulfed in clouds. Despite no-see-ums in the bath tub, porcupines in the sh****rs, martins in the cookhouse and cleaning up after the grizz discovered what city folks left out for them it was an awesome summer. Sitting across from the 3 glaciers at Berg Lake....listening to the rumble as they shed thier ice into the frigid waters below, snowball fights at Emperess Falls in the middle of July, building hiking trails that are still used today, Tete Jaune Cache, Valemont, going into Jasper Saturday afternoon to spend our hard earned money....and the memories flow forth. For those of you that have been through this area you know how awe inspiring it is....for those who haven't it is a trip that cannot be missed should the opportunity arise.

As with everything, the park has gone through many changes over the years but the resplendant beauty of the mountain will never change.
Y'all come back now....yah hear....
