"Serenity is not freedom from the storm, but peace amid the storm." (I have no clue as to the author... has been a favorite of mine for a time) *big sigh* I am home today on another "use it or lose it day". True, it is raining outside and to some this may be just another dreary day, but it is giving me a chance to put together some baskets that I will be trying to sell at a vendors craft fair in August. I am doing this in hopes of one day, when my long-awaited retirement arrives, I will be able to supplement my retirement with a website where I will sell customized gift baskets for those who hate to shop. A service for those that have a phobia of malls or shopping centers done by a woman that loves to find bargains and things that will put a little smile on the face of the receiver and a good feeling in the heart of the giver.
Last evening when I was outside feeding the three roomers here (for those that follow my journal [blogs] you will know I speak of the goats) I looked up from my rousing conversation with them and spotted a small, but nonetheless, real rainbow in the sky. It had rained yesterday also. And being the camera freak that I have been called (and, truth be known those that call me by that name are correct, I love the memories the camera creates for me) I ran in for my most beloved Canon and clicked the button and wa la... In keeping with the double dare by a lovely gal from MD who most of you enjoy.. remember, this is my silly attempt at sharing something personal but nice and if you wish to leave a comment that is not so nice, please just do it to me in a private email, as it will keep the good karma she was attempting to create going and save your good name and grace also because others won't have to read anything less than nice.
my tiny rainbow for you!!! The rain is welcome here in the boonies.. I live in the heart of farm country here, and I passed by the stand where I buy a lot of my veggies during the summer. He is a lovely older farmer and his veggies are to die for. It saves me the heartache of keeping the critters from gnawing on my edibles and it keeps him (the huckster) happy to know he is providing a service that I and my fellow buyers love him for.
I also took a few other pictures that I hope you might enjoy.. one is of my bearded iris which just popped open yesterday and was taken in the dusk when the sun was setting so the light was truly different. And there is one of the pink dogwood tree at my son's and one of the tree swallow who allows me to feed him by hand as he has taken up residency in the blue bird house on my old maple tree. I hope you enjoy them.
Bearded Iris
My son's pink dogwood
and lastly: Tree Swallow
That's all I have for the double dare.. I am off to watch a silly program I am now hooked on when I have my "use them or lose them days"... called the millionaire matchmaker... alls I am gonna say is, damn... I am tooo old for the criteria needed for a gal to be matched to one of those millionaires.. but hells bells, I would love to have one date where he would fly me in his private plane to the wine country and rent a castle for the entire evening along with a full staff to cook, play instruments, and make sure our every whim is catered to.. ah, Sam Elliott is another of my dreams.. off with me then! (I know, I know .. I am making some of you very happy by going.. yay for you!!!)
and for gramps: Again... thanks Lou!!! -- MUTUAL ORGASM
Ethel and Mabel, two elderly widows, were watching the folks go by from their park bench. Ethel said, "You know, Mabel, I've been reading this 'Sex and Marriage' book and all they talk about is 'mutual orgasm.'
"Mutual orgasm here and mutual orgasm' there. That's all they talk about. Tell me, Mabel, when your husband was alive, did you two ever have mutual orgasm?".
Mabel thought for a long while. Finally, she shook her head and said, "No, I think we had State Farm."

I don't know if anyone remembers my blog about it, but I'm colourblind. My daughter sent me this one day...the little butthead!

Seriously, I CAN see rainbows...it's just that I only see the yellow and the blue

If into each life a little rain must fall, one can only hope to find the rainbow within.
