Thursday I was sitting here at my computer, making a few last minute posts, before heading to the airport to pick up Hobbit101/Duvvy Sign, and Katy, when my phone rang. It was MY Duvvy, I said "Hello My Love" He was so stomping mad, and nearly in tears. He had missed his flight! My stomach fell to the floor (I was in tears)

He began to explain what had happened. (first he lives in TAMPA! Darn unpredictable traffic) When he parked his truck in long term parking and got on the shuttle bus, the driver asked if anyone was cutting it close. He said he was. The driver decided to circle the lot again to see if he could pick up more passengers... wasted another 15 minutes.

He gets to the check in counter at N***H W**T and has to wait in line, being the fourth one. When he hands his ticket to the "employee", he was told he was 3 minutes too late! He looked down at his bag, and said Fu*k, under his breath. (we haven't seen each other for 3 months! Plus its the 2nd Annual MD Camping Trip!!!) The employee heard it and yelled "Profanity! Get out of my line!" or something to that effect. He went over to the rebooking agent to see if he could get on a later flight.

Nope. That was their last flight to Indy. He then asked her if she could look and see if any other airline had any flights going out. She "looked" "No, this was the last one. The best I can do is book you on a flight for tomorrow." UHHH... for an additional $$$$$

He called me again. Explaining all of that. He told me how to get into his bank accounts and transfer money from savings to checking. I told him to stand by, I would get a call in to the airline directly. I did, Duncan was very nice, and told me he thought if Duvvy would go over and appolize (WTF?) to the "employee" he might change his mind.

Keep in mind, My Duvvy is just as Redneck as I am. He is dressed in a flannel shirt, jean vest, jeans, cowboy boots, and a cowboy hat. (hubba hubba) ~swoon~
OOPS... sorry got a bit carried away at the thought.

While I am on the phone with Duncan, he watches as the "employee" allows 4 other people to check their bags in. Lets just say, the "employee" wasn't a Redneck K?

One of the ladies that was in line, came over to him and said how WRONG it was of that "employee" to treat him like that.

He went down to Continential, YES! They had a later flight going into Indy! It was only $800.00! OMG! No way to get that much money!

I am online trying to find another flight... found one! I can't purchase it, as it is the day of the flight.

Meanwhile, he is wandering around the airport like a lost puppy, (in my minds eye) pulling his carry on, and carrying this big well padded box. (a gift he and I had made when I was down there in Feb. for all the campers.) When he notices an agent at another airline that is closed but the man was messing around on the computer. (probably posting on MD) Not that any members here would post while at work...

He approtched the man and asked him if he knew of anymore flights going to Indy. The WONDERFUL man said, "Yes, I believe Tra$ A!r has one." He hotfooted it over to their counter and asked the lady agent. "Why yes sir, we have a flight that leaves at 7:00, it arrives in Indy at 12:15." He asked "How much?" She replied "123.00" He breathlessly said "I'll take it!" She got all of his information, the ticket printed and the man working with her was just starting to put the claim ticket on his box, when he realized, it was a ONE WAY! "Uhh, excuse me Mam, how much more to make it a round trip?" Click, click, click went her key board.... "That will be $77.00 Sir." "Please make it round trip" He gratefully said.

Before walking away, with a HUGE smile on his face, he took her hand in both of his and thanked her profusely. (told me he wanted to jump over the counter and hug her) THAT woulda landed him in jail for sure! (I would have found a way to bail him out, with the help of my friends here of course.)
