I woke up this morning and I’d landed on the wrong square of the calendar for some reason, it might have something to do with a large quantity of beer, it might not.
I just knew it was going to be ‘one of those days,’ I hadn’t had one since the last one, and knew one was owed to me.
I laid in bed arranging my Monday in my head and wondering what had happened to Sunday, before going downstairs and noticing a calling card in my letterbox.
Sunday was back all of a sudden, now it was only half a day late, instead of missing from my life altogether. The day was starting to look promising, until I read the calling card and realised I’d missed the carpenter.
I called him and he came back over to work at my house while I planned a trip to the cinema and restaurant with my son, this was turning out to be a good day, until I ended up being taken to jail for the afternoon by a charming Police Officer.
He said ‘’You can refuse to come if you wish, but I have to warn you that you would be obstructing a Police Officer in the execution of his duty, which is in itself a criminal offence.”
I looked at him and said with a grin “Obstructing an Officer sounds rather exciting, don’t you think?”
Well, as I didn’t really have a choice, I asked the carpenter to leave and went with the Officer to the station for most of the rest of my ‘half a day left.’
My cinema trip was now cancelled, no meal at the restaurant and the supermarket was closed when I got home, so it’s a good job really that I like Peanut Butter.
I like my job too, well one of them, I work for several marketing companies, it’s not a regular job, but I love it and I was supposed to complete an assignment today, but with the day being the way it was, it was impossible, so I've probably been taken off their books today too...You have to be reliable with these companies or they don't want you.
So, it’s been one of those days…for me at least…ooh and for the carpenter. He returned for his third visit, the poor man had only come to hang a door and it took up the whole of his Sunday…I was so glad that I only wasted a half a day on all this.
