Enchanting
Industrial landscape with your charcoal greys, Electric pylons, cold darkened days, A numbness resides from somewhere within, A lack of sensation, almost a thick skin. Like a ghost in the distance, your presence prevails, A small coastline, on a border of Wales.
I watch you closely; I’m not far away, And I start to see a fine array Of cotton candy clouds go rolling by As jewels of light lift a stark winter sky.
Apricot sunrise starts to shine through, Sensations of warmth amidst frozen hue With echoes of autumn’s smoke filled air Cleansed with a frost, is my frozen affair, With a Welsh works town close by the sea So peaceful...
.....so still
.........enchanting me.

Tucked into the heart, of the land of the pine, A quaint little hamlet, this home of mine, What was once a flurry of business untold, Is now just a tomb, cause the stacks are all cold.
The plants are all empty, silent and still, The machinery all gone, there is no more mill, The craftsman have died, or beg on the street, Scratching out change, for something to eat.
The streets that once choked, on traffic of car, Now pose no delay, on the trips to the bar, We remember and boast, of our past deeds, Then cry in our beer, and stare at the weeds.
The young ones leave home, and move far away, Looking for life, and a good place to stay, The walking dead, are covered with mold, They live in a tomb, cause the stacks are all cold.
