From time to time I join up with Match or Yahoo Personals. It's not that I don't completely love Match Doctor, but I've found few "real" options here and enjoy it more for the forums and friends.
Recently I was with Match and was contacted by a seemingly nice man, "Kyle"...age 31. We sent a couple of emails back and forth and then exchanged "real" email addresses. After that, he sent one email to which I replied but did not receive an answer to.
I grew bored with Match and took my profile down. I moved over to Yahoo Personals and put my profile up there. I only do one at a time. I was searching through profiles and I see this guy, "Rick"...age 36. Amazingly, "Rick" and "Kyle" are the same guy...right down to their pictures. "Hmmm," I thought, but it didn't matter much as he never responded to my previous email.
Forward to this morning, "Kyle" sent me an email saying he hadn't heard from me. I kinda scratched my head. I don't know how email works for him, but, I require a "one-from-me-and-one-from-them" set-up until I know them much better. So I responded:
You didn't reply to my previous email and I've also discovered something that has me a bit confused. Are you Rick (age 36) or Kyle (age 31)? I realize the odds of making any kind of connection via dating sites can be slim and playing with your profile on various sites can be fun, but it helps when you are consistant with basic things like your age.
And he responded in kind:
sorry to disappoint but i am not Rick age 36. I told you my name and age right fromthe start. I do change my screenname for the web, but I told you the truth from the start. Let's just move on though, I resent your attitude. Not my type.
I'm gonna be frank here...I really like to have the last word. I did reply to his last message and told him that I wasn't angry or anything just confused. And I ever so craftily pasted links to BOTH of his profiles. Apparently, Rick/Kyle is afflicted with a bit of amnesia.
