Doesn't sound like a bad idea.
I'm all for protecting myself and my family.
We had all better wake up soon or lose what we have.

Life is not measured by the number of breaths we take
but by the moments that take our breath away.

******************************************************************
Are we Americans & Canadians as dumb as we appear --- or ---
is it that we just do not think?

While the Chinese, knowingly and intentionally,
export inferior and even toxic products and dangerous toys
and goods to be sold in American & Canadian markets,
the media wrings its hands and criticizes the
Administration for perceived errors.

Yet 70% of Americans & Canadians
believe that the trading privileges afforded to the Chinese should be suspended.

Well, duh..why do you need the government to suspend trading privileges?

SIMPLY DO IT YOURSELF, AMERICA & CANADA

Simply look on the bottom of every product you buy,
and if it says 'Made in China' or 'PRC' (and that now includes Hong Kong ),
simply choose another product, or none at all.
You will be amazed at how dependent you are on Chinese products,
and you will be equally amazed at what you can do without.
Who needs plastic eggs to celebrate Easter?

If you must have eggs, use real ones and benefit some
American & Canadian farmer.
Easter is just an example, the point is..
do not wait for the government to act.

Just go ahead and assume control on your own.

THINK ABOUT THIS:
If 200 million Americans &
Canadians refuse to buy just $20 each of Chinese goods,
that's a billion dollar trade imbalance resolved in our favor...fast!!

The downside?
Some American & Canadian businesses will feel a
temporary pinch from having foreign stockpiles of inventory.
They're making a killing importing this junk.

The solution ?

Let's give them fair warning and send our own message.
Most of the people who have been reading about
this matter are planning on implementing
this on June 4, and continue it until July 4.

That is only one month of trading losses,
but it will hit the Chinese for 1/12th of the total, or 8%,
of their American
and Canadian exports.
Then they will at least have to ask themselves
if the benefits of their arrogance and lawlessness were worth it.

Remember, June 4 to July 4.

EVEN BETTER. . . START NOW.

Show them we are Americans and Canadians
NOBODY can take us for granted.

If we can't live without cheap Chinese goods for one month
out of our lives,
WE DESERVE WHAT WE GET!

Pass it on, America & Canada :

no bashing please,, just something to think on...

I always look to see where a product is made and if it says China, I put it back. Plain and simple

Why you see no action on this is because most of the flaws are American engineering design flaws. The Chinese are not entirely to blame though I do support the spirit in what you say.

I agree with you completely. I have always said that if we would ALL stick together and boycott products that are overpriced or of poor quality we would not be constantly getting ripped off. Unfortunately, it will never happen, people will not stick together for any reason. And even if by some chance they did pull together it would be virtually impossible to totally avoid Chinese products. The Chinese are already aware of that possibility, Chinese companies have already been caught placing "made in America" stickers on their products. And personally, I can't afford anything that is still made in America.

I agree...we need to look out for ourselves or perish. As I once said a couple years ago and maybe recently. America will not be lost on a battlefield, but in the economics.

good blog and thanks for the reminder.

I totally agree, what the heck do easter eggs have to do with the death of Jesus anyways I have never bought bunnies or plastic eggs or celebrated with anything like that with my kids for Easter. It totally takes away the true meaning. Lets get back to the true meaning and at the same time choose to buy American. tc Lost

Seems like I heard the same arguments in the 70's about Japanese products.

But I agree, the substandard products are dangerous. Some of it is from poor engineering, or engineering that was lost in translation,,,,but some of it is just plain dishonest practice.

Take a look at something as simple as nuts and bolts and hardware. For years, the US and EU have had an accepted critera (ASME standards here) for what hardness and strenght a both must be in order to reach a certain grading level. (Grade 3, soft, Grade 5 medium, Grade 8 hard - aircraft quality). The hardware was then marked, according to the grade. Trouble is, the asian imports have these marks only as decoration, and the bolts are many times not the grade they are sold as, or marked as.

In the last 10 years, I've been involved directly in 40 deaths where infeiror hardware was the root cause of the accident. My only recommendations, don't buy any bolts for safety critical applications that are not manufacture in the US or the EU. Yes, they will cost more money, but they will perfrom as intended.

Now,,,, I need some furniture. Where can I find a good table and chairs, that are not made in Asia.
