Enjoy the little things, for one day you may look back and realize they were the big things. -- Robert Brault Some people have trouble seeing animals and birds trapped in cages for the same reason because they see their great potential being inhibited. For example, how do eagles feel in cages in zoos? These magnificent birds, created to soar to the heights of mountaintops, do they get frustrated? Are they fulfilled? How could they be?
Too many of us, who were created to reach our total human and spiritual potential, are trapped in a cage of our own or of another's making. We fail to resolve the problems in our life that hold us back. True, we may have been wounded in the past, but it should be our journey to heal, to be made whole, to be free to fly, to soar to the heights of all there is for us.
We have a choice, we can scratch in the dirt with the turkeys or we can rise up and fly with the eagles to the heights that God envisioned for us to reach. That choice is ours.
I urge you to attempt to fully grasp the fact that there is, indeed, a wonderful plan for YOUR life. Discover what this is, and awaken a restlessness in yourself until you discover it. Learn to cherish the joy in your life. Sometimes, it really is the little things in life that are the true big things.
I was out at lunch yesterday in the dollar store and I spied a foam helmet and sword and shield fit for a true knight of olde. My professional colleague at work has a 3 year old. Ben did not fall far from the tree, as his dad and mom are both "pissers"... full of sarcasm and fun to and with each other, so it is no wonder that Ben would be the carbon copy of both. Scott, my colleague and Ben's dad took the items home and Ben loved them, so Scott was getting ready to sit at the computer last night and finish up some work, when Ben came up to him with the helmet, sword and shield, and said.. "Dad, I love this stuff.. tell C thank you" and Scott looked up and there was Ben with the three items and buck naked. When Scott said... "Buddy, I think you forgot your clothes", Ben replied with the joy and innocence of a 3 year old.. "but dad, I AM going for a bath, I just needed you to see how cool this is."
Wouldn't it be awesome, if we as adults, could recapture that innocence and joy we had as children? I am getting ready for a shower.. I have been without power for 2 days now.. a mini tornado blew through the area on Tuesday evening and I was driving when a tree fell in front of my car scraping the hood and grill, but missing the car... we just got our electricity back, and I am sooooooo missing a shower.. so I will leave you with a video on bringing joy into your life.. click on the link below:

and for gramps: The Texas Baby
A Texan is drinking in a New York bar when he gets a call on his cell phone.
He hangs up, grinning from ear to ear, and orders a round of drinks for everybody in the bar announcing his wife has produced a typical Texas baby boy weighing 25 pounds.
Nobody can believe that any new baby can weigh in at 25 pounds, but the Texan just shrugs, "That's about average down home, folks ... like I said, my boy's a typical Texas baby boy."
Congratulations showered him from all around, and many exclamations of "WOW!" ... We heard one woman actually fainted due to sympathy pains.
Two weeks later he returns to the bar. The bartender says, "Say you're the father of that typical Texas baby that weighed 25 pounds at birth. Everybody's been making bets about how big he'd be in two weeks. So how much does he weigh now?
The proud father answers, "Seventeen pounds."
The bartender is puzzled, concerned, and a little suspicious. "What happened? He already weighed 25 pounds the day he was born!"
The Texas father takes a slow swig from his long-neck Lone Star beer, wipes his lips on his shirt sleeve, leans into the bartender and proudly says,
"Had'm circumcised"......
