In this strange and bizarre world of online dating, it is very easy for one person to deceive another. Now I am a trusting soul and I tend to take people at their word. But I have also learned that it pays to be savvy, and my Daddy didn't raise a fool. There are many ways to go about finding out if a person is telling the truth, and I have mastered a system that has not failed me yet. I have now caught two men from online in some pretty incredible lies. Now we all know that when a man only gives you his cell phone number and not his home phone it should raise a few questions in a girls mind. But there are other ways to find out the truth without having to rely on the other person to always be completely honest. I realize that what I am about to post here will cause some people to scream "Invasion of Privacy!" I really couldn't give a shit. I have found that honest people have no problem with you checking them out. It is only those with much to hide that freak out when you tell them what you have done. So, let's take a look at how to catch a liar/cheater shall we? This will cost you approximately $15.00 a year and will allow you to catch as many pathological liars as you have time for. First of all, you DO need their personal email address. Once you have that, you have the world at your finger tips. Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail, Outlook, they are as good as hooking someone up to a lie detector test. You now need to subscribe to a tracking program. I have found that the easiest to work with is "Point of Mail." They are cheap, reliable, and the results are instantaneous. And that kind of turn around time if perfect for an instant gratification girl like me. Let's say I'm going to check out Jim, my good friend on here. Once I have paid my $15.00, I simply type his address as follows... Jim @ madeupemail.com.POINTOFMAIL.COM I have highlighted for you the new addition. This add on to his email address is undetectable. I simply write him an email, attach those few letters and send it off. Within less than 3 seconds I will have a confirmation email from POM (point of mail) telling me that my email has been sent. BUT....as soon as he opens that email, they will immediately contact me and let me know he opened it. I will also receive his IP address, who his service provider is, his mailing address, AND they will also tell me if he copy/pastes anything from my emails, or even if he should forward my emails to others. I know....breathe deep, it gets even better..... I can set up my email with the click of a button, that if he SHOULD try to copy/paste something from my emails, (let's say some suggestive pictures) it will become impossible for him to do so. AND if he really pisses me off????? I can destroy the email while it is sitting in his email box. And there he would sit trying to figure out where that email went. How beautiful is this? But for right now, let's focus on extracting the information that we need. I have checked out many men from online, but 2 came up so dirty on this first step that they required a bit more searching. How did they come up dirty you ask? Because when I got the confirmation email...the IP address was owned by a woman. And I now had her name. AND her address. Just to keep things anonymous, let's say that it came up in my good friend Pammy's name. I now have a way to contact her don't I? But now it's time to go to Google. I Google her name...."Pammy Anonymous" and the city and state. Google will promptly give me her address and telephone number. How nice of them! I then switch over into google maps, and I now can see her lovely house. Heck, let's live a little and do a street view. This is always fun if you can see the man's car in the driveway or on the street out front. Well now, we could stop here. He MAY just be living with his sister after all. But will you really be able to sleep with not knowing? I didn't think so. We have a couple of options here. We can do a reverse IP search on google and get HER email address and contact her that way, OR...we can just call the girl and shoot this horse in the head. If you know me at all, you know that I would choose the quick painless death, for everyone involved. Just call the woman. You can pretend to be a telemarketer, or you can pretend to be a long lost friend, or....you could just tell the woman who you are. It's your choice. This last time, I chose to pretend to be a friend. And this is how it played out. Again, we will be using my friends names here so as to protect the not-so-innocent. Hello? Hi Pam, is Jim there? (Remember, I'm pretending to know her. This is surprisingly effective as most people won't admit straight off the bat that they can't figure out who you are) No, he's at work right now. Darn it. He get's off at 11:00 tonight again? Yeah, I think so. Although who the hell ever knows what that man is doing! (Yep, you guessed it....this woman has been run through the ringer. And that one comment alone told me volumes.) Do you know if he has his cell with him tonight? I think so. He never puts that thing down the last couple of weeks (Bingo!) Yeah, well...he doesn't always have it on. Do you have his work number handy? I don't know where the hell I put it. And you guessed it people, I now had his work number. Now...many people have caller ID, so it is sometimes easier to just pretend to be a telemarketer. It is your choice and you need to pick what is the most comfortable for you. I chose to go a step farther. I called his place of employment and pretended to be from a loan company verifying his employment and his salient points. Home address, phone number, years worked and his position with the company. I now know that this man has been living with a woman for quite a while. And that woman sounds pretty f***ing tired of dealing with his crap. I also know much more about him don't I? But in the end, I know that I never want to have contact with him again. And THAT is what this is all about. Now, EVERY man that I have tracked I have told them (afterwards of course) Except for this last one, he'll be figuring it out pretty quick when he reads this blog. But every man that I was honest with and had told them what I had done....wasn't fazed in the least. EXCEPT for the one who got caught with his pants down. The rest of those innocent men thought it was a riot and was actually proud of my Nancy Drew like skills. I have now checked 11 men from online. That is about $1.30 each. But not having to go through he emotional hell of falling for a taken man...well boys and girls...that's priceless. So I thank you for coming on this journey with me, I hope you enjoyed the ride. And while the school year is over for me, I hope that I may still be capable of teaching people new things. Because, after all, knowledge is power.

No. He is not living with Pam!
AND...he was a very good sport and let me track his emails, and even do a little bombing of pictures. It was quite the fun experiment! It was neat to really see what all this tracking program could do with someone who was aware and willing to let me dig through both their present and their past.
Thank you Jim

Very interesting indeedy...
Makes alot of sense to do that to. Especially when you never know what your talking to online, a man, woman, she-male, married person, living in sin person(lol), the whole she-bang.
...If I was going to find a mate online I'd probably do the same thing.
Good info for alot of people, makes me kinda scared to give out my email now though, I never knew you could get that much info from an email address...If scammer's use this or stalkers the results could be horrific.

wow pretty amazing, stuff, I have a self protecting rule , doesn't always work. if you are not in my location I simply am not interested , but , still love the info, just a question, can someone , go into my personal emails and pics if they get my ip add, ot is it just you can, if you do the search, I often give out my email as prefer to communicate that way instead of being on the site, you have me worried now,!!!!!!!!!!,lol. but I agree I feel anyone with nothing to hide, would be accesable by phone , home or cell, , but it does come down to plain old fashioned rules, if it walks like a duck sounds like it duck quacks like a duck it , most probably is, so our insticts are usually right , we just have to pay more attention to them. interesting blog,

ok I have googled a name or two but, to track down their ip address and others that they live with I dont know about that. I think if you ask the right question you can find out alot of stuff about someone. lets not forget sometimes the facts dont tell the full picture of what is going on. what ever happen to good ol trust? I know now days you need more then trust but keep this in mind the guy/girl that you meet at the local dive maybe just as big of a lier as the ones on line. yes you are doing good at protecting yourself but what does this say to the people you do this to. If it was me I would think that you dont trust me and without trust you dont have a good making of a good realtionship.

Excellent Blog...If I had more than 5 kudos, I'd give ya all of em. Do you have ANY idea how many women you might have saved from some heartache? I have not had to use all your info yet, I must have a sixth sense and shot the horses in the head either before meeting, or right after.
I, too, will print this valuable information out, while hoping that it will be allowed to remain posted so that it can be helpful in these troubling times.
For those who mentioned hesitating to give out their email address, when I went online in these dating sites I simply set up a Knittin kitten email address. NO one gets my regular address until such time as I'm very confident they are real.
You can also further protect yourself by getting the man's phone number and when calling him, put *67 in front of the number, creating a "restricted" phone call wherein he cannot trace you. I have had two men refuse to give me their numbers because of this and it simply told me that they had no consideration about the protection of their sister, mother or daughter, so why would I want to converse with them?
This is not easy, but, I truly believe that men with nothing to hide, will understand, and those are the kinds of men we're looking for anyway...Right?
Sincerely, Knittin Kitten

Well. I am one of the few people on here who actually gives out in real name on here, so I never have an issue with someone looking me up. I been googled quite a few times by people who weren't my friends, lol
Since this is an empowering positive blog, I won't reveal how to screw your plan up,it's quite easy actually. I do believe this can be helpful, so I do ty for posting it.
Though you do have to love the ratio of women to men on this blog, lol
Ding ding, I think we have a winner, apparently men screw women over more than women do men.

There was a great movie made in the 80's called "Amazon Women on the Moon". In one scene, a man enters his blind dates apartment and before they go out, she asks for his credit card. She then scans the card on a special machine and the output is like a printed tape. On that tape is a record of his dates for the last two years. It has exactly where he went, what he said, how long it lasted etc etc. I had what he and his date had for dinner and the list goes on. It was quite funny. If you get a chance, rent it.

An addendum to your information is most states have an on-line site to check for arrest records. Including a sex offender registry. Knowledge is power. In my case it would be false knowledge. My ex-wife developed paranoid schizophrenia in her 20's. she has had me, her friends and family arrested for things they did not do. She even wrote the governor saying that we were all in a conspiracy to get her. At one point, she had three people accused of three different crimes at three different courts in three different counties all scheduled at 9am on the same day for court. The only way she was put to a stop was when the judges from the different jurisdictions got together to discover that they had a mentally ill "Serial Filer" as they said, on their hands.
Sooo,, when you go to the state court record site, none of these false records of alledged crimes has been removed. So if someone searches for my name and finds records of my alledged crimes, I have to explain it away! What a nightmare that has been with employers, govt officials etc.

Wow. Then Missouri has a very poor set up. In the state of Wisconsin you can see if the case is pending, what the charges are, if they were convited or not, and even if they were found not guilty. And, many who pled to a lesser charge. The only thing that I know for a fact that they do not show is adoptions (for obvious reasons)
So while you (Not YOU...just a person) may have been charged with domestic violence, it can and will show whether you were found guilty of it or not.
My record currenty shows my divorce from almost 13 years ago and nothing more. My ex-husband shows 4or 5 speeding tickets and the divorce. Let's be honest, that is some pretty lame stuff. So, just because there is stuff there does NOT make it bad.
Heck, if I found a man who only had traffic violations and a charge for possession of pot 10 years ago, it wouldn't faze me in the least.

You touched on SO MANY Important Points here... This Online, Cyberspace Dating thing makes deceit and deception such an easy thing to do... From the Normal 20 Year-old svelte pictures that most people post*, To never wanting to talk on the phone - Limiting the Communication to this backroom Chat (Whatever happened to friends wanting to hear friends voices - With Unlimited Long Distance which goes with Most Phone and Internet Services, It cost no more to put a voice to Our Friends words than it cost to use the Cold, Mechanical Internet), To Cell Phone Numbers Only, To No Shows or Last Minute Changes to "Dates", and on an on... (* That is why I leave My Fat, Out Of Shape, Move-In Day Picture up here - I've lost 70 LBS since the picture was taken a year or so ago... I would rather have My Blind Date Happily Surprised when She sees Me, Than disappointed... I don't theink "Disappointment" is a good first impression to make.) Mimi, And Everyone else on here, Keep Checking People Out... The risks can be simply disappointing if You don't... They can also be catastrophic as we here on the news so often... I'm Done, And Done Preeching!

This is all very cool and I understand how it can make people feel more secure online.
I have to say, though, that if I start thinking I have to look more closely into someone it means red flags have already gone up and I have my conclusion without having to delve deeper.
This is, to me, the online equivalent of following someone, driving by their house and workplace, and checking their mailbox in order to catch them in lies....lies I already know they're telling. What's the point?
And I would never send suggestive pictures over the internet, no matter how well I know someone.

Sweet, a new series on "Tools For Stalkers"...
Fake ID
Fake Credit Card or whatever payment forms this company accepts(from fake ID, or not)
Access to free wireless from either unsecured wireless or a motel that has free wireless, Starbucks or a ton of other rogue wireless access points, etc.
Access this program, SUCCESS!
He/she shows up, cuts your entrails out and fashions a meat necklace from them.
Getting away with murder with little or no paper trail..
Priceless....
I can understand the need to protect yourself, but it's equally important to understand that their are folks out there that are going to use this new technology for ill gains. While it's a great tool for protecting yourself against scammers and such, or for hooking up with the wrong guy/girl...it can easily be turned against you. The scammers/criminals are certainly going to use it if it's available no?
Someone else said, if the reasons for using this kind of software is present...you already know a problem exists. Common sense beats all.
One of lifes little conundrums huh?
You're right, Knowledge IS POWER......for everyone, not just the good guys.

Alrighty...I am whipping through my allotment of private emails quite fast today, so let me write some things here.
It's called Point of Mail. Please, google it. You can get all the information on what this tool can do.
This program was originally started for people in business. They were able to send out important emails, or even scanned documents and this program allowed them to get a "receipt" of sorts. It would show the date, actual time, and reciepient that opened the email. And, it would also show if this document was forwarded on. How many times it was read...you get the point. I hope. If you still don't understand how it works, again, please google, I'm almost out of emails.
To clear any confusion...NO, I did not send any suggestive pictures Cripes people. I just thought that was a pretty neat, handy, dandy feature.
And yes, I am aware that this tool can be used for both good and evil. But, I also think that people who have wanted to know about it for evil intent are probably already using it. But, from the majority of the comments above, very few of the honest women knew about it.
My above actions were not spurred on by a red flag that was already in my head, (as was suggested above) but by the fact that I was considering going to meet this man. And whether you meet at your home or "somewhere else" you had darn well better go there knowing who you are meeting and the ability to leave that information with those that love you. In fact, I had no clue they had been lying to me. This was quite the surprise.
Have I used this information to destroy this man? Nope. Have I contacted him and railed against his dastardly deads? Nope. Has this affected him in any way other than the fact that I am no longer an option for him? Nope.
I protected myself. Because in the end, no matter what some people will tell you...they don't care enough about you to protect you.
I understand why many of you are put off by this. And I understand why you may chose to never use it. In fact, I even gave my friends they option of "opting out" of my friends list prior to posting of this blog if they so choose. But in the end...I stand by my choice. And it saved me a great deal of heart ache. However, I sure to feel sorry for the other woman.

You don't need to pay anyone for that information, you can quite easily get it yourself for free.
Set your email accounts to show full headers, this will give you their IP address.
Put their IP address into an IP locator, you can find this from google, there are hundreds of them.
For the tracking, use Lotus, Outlook Express or other software which has the tracking facility built in and notifies you when mail is read or delivered.
As for deleting their mail, there's a program you can get to do that too. Not sure what it's called, but you can find it here somewhere.http://www.419eater.com/

If knowledge was always used for good purposes this would be a wonderful world. I hope all the women....and men..on line know that all this is a double edges sword. As victims of liars get a tool to discover the truth, stalkers get a tool to learn all your private information. I wonder how many perverts will be sitting outside the houses of the women they stalk because they've been given a method of finding them. All this is no secret. I already knew it. Since this method of finding you has been put out there, everyone should have a throw away email address with all false information on it. Get a yahoo address with a name that isn't yours and don't put your real name or address on it, much less your phone number. If you put this info on the net it WILL become public info. The race is on. Cancel those emails, girls and guys. The pervs are already acting.

shortly after I came home from the Navy, I was working for Ma Bell, living at my folks place. I was working split shifts, and so I drove through a seedy neighborhood 4 times a day, 6 days a week.... A group in that neighborhood had a campaign to pick on "john's", who were trolling for prostitutes...lol... so my folks got a video tape in the mail, asking why I was driving in that area all the time, yet living in the suburbs....
luckily my folks had a sense of humor...
