i noticed a few fewer visits to my profile. in fact, there are a great many less.

whatever. i'm in a relationship anyhow. it says so right on my profile. and i've gotten absolutely zero emails saying "hey, i wanna try to get between you and another girl."

i've also noticed a lot less spam. yes, spam, that filler of every breakfast that adam sandler had in "50 first dates." my normal spam says "b1gg3r p3n1s in 30 days!" or "f*ck someone tonight" or something along those lines. the spam here said "i'm so interested" and led me to a profile that said nothing about who the person wanted to meet. yeah, i totally want to meet ms generic personality who has no idea who she wants to meet or who lives in another state and has no picture.

morons, your bus is leaving.

one thing i did learn from the gold membership thing is that it's not just for the time that you sign up for. it automagically renews itself monthly unless you tell it to stop. ok, that was my fault, because *i'm totally sure* that it probably says this somewhere in the user agreement. i found out the hard way by not showing up here for a few months and then later on noticing i kept getting billed by the place.

all my fault, i admit. and it's no big deal, of course.

i did have a slight problem when i returned to see what my friends were up to. i noticed that it automatically renewed, and i was past the date. so i emailed the powers here that be to ask if they could just cancel immediately and credit me for the couple of days that i was into the month. the answer must have been "no," because i never heard back from them!

you know, i've been around the block a couple times. i've heard "no" more than my fair share. but at least tell me "no." don't ignore my request totally. tell me you read it, then say "no" and spit in my face like everyone else.

eh, i'm out a couple bucks. no big deal.

but i can't say that it makes me feel like rushing to go gold again any time soon
