I see there is record flooding in Iowa. People loosing everything to the mighty Mississippi. I saw where the University lost something like 62 grand pianos. Not to mention hundreds of other instruments. And the loss of homes, loved ones and careers must overwhelming. These people are suffering.

Where are the demands for the government to feed these people?
I watch the news but I don't see riots, shootings etc.
When is someone gonna stand up and loot some store or something? What’s the matter with these people?

Didn’t they learn ANYTHING from the folks in New Orleans?

Isn’t the government going to issue government debit cards for the victims like they did in New Orleans?

Well, at least there is still hope….I saw this posted in a few places downtown yesterday:

Announcement!!
Attention Attention Concerned Citizens!

Rioting is scheduled following the covered dish dinner on the church grounds. After which there will be a general looting spree conducted under the supervision of the local Lions Club. All proceeds will be donated to the hospital in town.

Casual attire is recommended for the Rioting Event.
Rioting Event Participants are encouraged to register no later than noon, and to pick up their free packet on Rioting Safety from the Local Chamber of Commerce. It includes a 4 oz sample of sunscreen and "I Rioted the Iowa Flood" bumper sticker.

First Aid stations will be located every 50 ft within the Rioting Event area, manned by local Explorer Scouts.
Help make the Iowa Flood Riots a memorable event by planing to attend. Bring your kids, as there will be plenty of activities for them to participate in. Bailing the Basement, Shoveling Sludge, and the old favorite, Rescue the Kitties will be just a few. There will be more fun and games available as the day wears on.

For those Iowans unfamiliar with Rioting Events, suggested adult
activities include:

The 100 yard wet couch carry......how fast can you carry a wet couch a hundred yards? This will be a very popular activity, so come early.

Noisemaking ( such as marching bands …please bring your own instruments)
Waving Things in the Air ( Like flags, pom poms and other assorted patriotic things)

Throwing Things ( Like cheerleaders, firecrackers ( please use caution with the fireworks….we don’t need any damn fires or explosions! )

Spray-Painting of Slogans ( Suggested slogans mentioned in the free packet on Rioting Safety might include such slogans as “Condemned “ or “ Stay Out! “ or “ God Bless America!” )

Also encouraged will be the ever popular Chanting of Slogans.
REMEMBER! These can be utilized at any time after 5:30 am and before 9:00 Pm.
We don't want to upset the Blue Haired Society of Older Women, especially on Saturday.

Suggested slogans that can be chanted include such favorites as:

God Bless America!

We Support Our Troops!

Thank You, National Guard!

Is FEMA here yet?

Be sure to be considerate of your neighbor when chanting. Try not to yell around the older folk, and small children. Livestock are also sensitive to loud sudden yelling, so please use good judgment when you feel inspired to chant one of our slogans.Otherwise, you might get trampled or kicked or something. We have enough problems without someone adding more to it all.

Also keep in mind! A successful riot is a spontaneous riot. But please bring your own snadwiches and plenty of beer. Do not bring water. We have enough.

Thank you so much for your support!
Now lets get to it!

So, I was happy to at least see that, and I am encouraged that the citizens of Iowa will rise to the occasion and begin to cause riot and mayhem soon, which will further exacerbate their predicament.

Ah yes.....Good old heartland America.....God bless ya all! And I sincerely mean that!

What would we do without ya?

Makes a person wonder, hmmmmmmmmmmmmm. Are these great Iowians so self sufficient, hard working folk that they are not taking the time out of their lifes to pity themselves, waiting the government to come and rescue them? Because if they were and then when the government does come in will they then bitch about the help they are receiving. I think they may be just wanting to get back to their homes and start rebuilding their lives and helping their neighbors to the same. Strange concept, I know, but unique and sooooo very midwestern and American.

They are all in my prayers.

Sound like "fly over" country to me. Don't they realize they will get more free money if they riot. The media will be all over it.

I thought about this the other day when I looked at the pictures of one of our members flooded out town and home, and she said well it is just stuff all replaceable if wanted.. I think one has to think of the density of the population and the rat theory when rats are in place where they have enough room to be ratty and take care of them selves then what is happening in the flooded midwest is what is expected, but if you take a dense population of rats and they cannot take care of themselves (due to not being able to be self sufficient how ever that happens) then you get the converse N.O. a densly packed city with little to no resources.. humans animals in the right conditions same thing....

They are doing things, our church along with other churches in the city just got emergency emails saying how many people they need to go to what cities and when. I myself am organizing a semi truck with the church with lumber and supplies to leave next week to head up in that direction as they have run out of lumber. Our church is sending a bus load of people in one week on the church bus as the memo said they want 21 people. I am not sure what the other churchs are sending but someone sat down and decided to email all the churches in various cities and are asking for help and supplies, so it is on going. Just thought you'd like to know what's happening on this end. tc Lost

A bus load of people...... I thought the buses were supposed to be left in the flood areas. How in the world can you get new buses if you don't let the old buses flood? You don't mean you guys used to buses to move people out of the flood area, or parked them to get prepared because the weather told you that a flood might be coming?

Such backward people,,,,

I don't suppose you guys have packs of attorneys running around telling you that your free FEMA trailer is going to give you cancer either....

Actually, I am kind of disappointed, as I had cleaned out the spare bedrooms in the house, hoping to see packs of farmer's daughters on my local news needing someplace to stay.

I loved this after you took three days to explain it to me. ~*~

I thought it was 63 Grands, perhaps it's because I'm in the future and you're just not aware of it there yet.

I hope you consider the pinks as well as the blues, there's nothing worse especially on a Saturday.

You are late again this morning tomorrow today yesterday
