Sadly, most of the time you can’t.

Christians think of themselves as working on their inner self, being a moral image (if not idol) to their children, being good, do good. Some of them can’t say or write anything without a “God bless you” underneath.

They raise their children in the faith and want them to become moral pillars of the community…. Just like they, the parents, are…

…. Or think they are…

BECAUSE…. Have a look at their profiles, “guestbooks” on some sites, at the chat rooms, at their e-mails and… especially the kind of jokes they e-mail around.

Would they want their children to have a look at THAT?

Probably not…

Soooooo, those who think so much of their moral standard should maybe think of what they show of themselves on the internet and in their e-mails…

PS…. I’m a Christian myself. I don’t write “God bless you” under most of my e-mails. And I don’t forward “spicy” jokes around…

Have a great day.

“guestbooks” on some sites

You wouldn't believe some of the trash I've seen some "Christian" people promoting. Yet at the same time, they lecture others about their sins? Hypocrisy at it's finest!

You are so right about needing to think about what we do and say (and forward) on the internet. I have no qualms about asking a friend or family member to cease and desist sending me off-color jokes or stories full of 'adult' humor. The best gauge truly is "Would I share this with my children?".

Great blog!

... and I haven't even talked about the pictures that I've seen.... sent around by "fine Christian ladies".

And remember that Christians are not the only ones with morals although many don't realize it.

bandthmom...

Of course you are right. In fact, I've also met non-Christians with higher standards than the "God bless you" people.

I'm a Christian but I still sin. I did pray for you and your daughter after one of your e mails and I Hope God Blesses you.

Thank you, buatbu...

Yes, we all sin....
Yet, there are sins that are easily avoidable, aren't they?

This is VERY sad: I just left a site, where I was asked to be specific sexually. I have DAUGHTERS!! What do I want them-or MODs-knowing about that? Isn't it all sacred and personal?

I'm a Sinful Christian, washed by the blood......and sometimes I stumble and say explicit things.

I'm glad there is forgiveness, but thank you, for not letting me feel alone, out here.

contrary to popular belief, it is rather simple to distinguish a true christian from the pseudochristian. the christian talks about what Jesus said and the pseudo talks about what everybody else says. if i quote Jesus, logic implies that i am a christian. if i quote paul, john, john paul, swaggart, jones, haggard. white, olsteen ya get my point, pseudochristian! christians are ALL about Jesus and the word. pseudos, well they are the wolves in sheeps clothing that Jesus warned us about. it is simple to lure the pseudos out! they almost always want to tell you about the corinthians and the hebrews and the galatians, and of course the most popular group they want to tell you about are the romans! LOL just tell the wolves you want to know what Jesus said. that stops them in their tracks. we be jammin

Who was it that said, You will be judged as you judge others? hmmmm good logic I believe anyways according to my dictionary a Christian is a person who knows who Jesus is and knows about his teachings, simple as that. People just add all the gibberish about being saved and baptised and so on and so on. So if you believe in Jesus and who he is, you are a Christian as you believe in him it doesn't have to be so difficult as everyone makes it out to be. tc Lost now a sinner is a different topic

Intresting blog.. Could this be me ? or anyone of us? We all fall short of the glory of our God. But he loves us inspite of our selfs Let us go forth with a spirit of love and forgiveness A true christans relationship is between him/her and God, Strive to do better every day Do not judge but try to make a diffrence and remeber let he who is without sin cast the first stone. God bless,Paul

My Ma always said " Those that talk the most, do the least"

THAT IS SO VERY TRUE.

All we have to do is watch for a few minutes and see if their actions and even how they talk about other people matches how a 'Christian' should be. People who tell people they are Christian right away, most of the time you don't have to wait too long to know they aren't one. I met two guys who claimed to be Christian in the 5 years I have been dating on-line...

One guy who said he went to chruch three times a week. I went with him to church once and he was the rudest person I ever met even to me. He was pretending to be a wonderful Christian at church, but after he left church he certainly didn't act anything like a christian should act. He told me I was stupid because I had trouble finding my car in the parking lot. Needless to say I didn't see him again.

I met another 'Christian' guy just recently who could almost quote chapter and verse every verse in the Bible. He was the most possessive guy I ever met - wanted me to commit to him the first time I met him so he could start controling my life. I told him I had a garden when I met him a second time and he told me that I shouldn't have one because it would take my time away from him if I was going to have a relationship with him. I met him twice over one weekend. I was happy I had finally met a Christian man which was the only reason I met him again. I certainly didn't meet him the third time.

Those guys where the only guys I met on-line who CLAIMED to be 'Christian', I met a muslim guy and he was the best example of 'Christianity' I ever met in my life - so much so I am almost thinking of converting. He is the best friend I ever had in my life. The Christians I have met all my life have very rarely been a good example of Christianity to someone who didn't know what Christianity was. He certainly has met "Christian' people and he doesn't have a good word to say about anyone who is Christian and I have to agree with him. I am a Christian so I know the difference, but what a bad example it is giving to people out there watching people who area claiming to be "Christians" I am embarrased to tell people I am Christian because of people like that. SAD

Mr. Paul...

Yes, we all are sinners and those who think they are not may cast the first stone.

My blog was inspired by off-color jokes that I keep receiving from different sources on my e-mail and that I don't even desire reading, let alone forward to somebody else.
It was also inspired by a dear on-line friend's "guestbook" on another site where literally dozens of "fine" women had taken advantage of a simple question he had thrown out, ..... and had sent him more or less (as well as the most) obscene pictures and messages. They justified it with "hey, you guys have done that since a thousand years, so we do it now..." (great reasoning.... so if your neighbor is a thief or molester, it's OK to be one, too?????)

I was also inspired by a guy I met once, who proclaimed (and still continues) his spotless Christianity to everyone who would want to listen, but wouldn't mind to roll around in the hay, as well as he didn't hold back for writing kinky stuff.

I came to the conclusion that I want to receive, send and show only words and pictures that my little boy could see, too. If I want to give him rules and directions for life, I should maybe be a good example first....

I'm not so great everyday and certainly not spotless, but I try. And keeping my profiles and e-mails in a way that my child could see is just one way to be an example for what I try to preach...

Jesus chose to die...right on the side of 2 sinners.

This blog takes a turn into who is sinner or not.

This goes way, way beyond anything I meant to say in this blog. But hey, you all are free to comment what you feel like.

This little comment of mine is just a disclaimer: I didn't mean to judge anybody but myself and my e-mails, profiles, blogs and such (and what I want to show on them or not), and equally, I do not intend nor want to judge who would be "sinner" or not sinner, etc.

It was about some thoughts concerning who shows what image of themselves on the internet. Everybody is free to choose what they want. What I don't like is those who want to be our "moral pillars" without delivering, .....once you scratch the surface...

Mea culpa if this was understood as something much bigger than what I intended it to be...

Wassa sat 'bout Christians

Get a life will yer!!!!! How dare you speak about Christians like that. You shall go to hell and suffer eternal damnation!!!

YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO QUESTION CHRISTIAN AUTHORITY!!!!!!!!!

Hell fire... it has just started to thunder and lightening here!!!! (Not kidding!)

Jun 22 @ 3:53PM

We had lightning here, too, yesterday evening. I guess I've sent it down to your part of the world....

For Christians, there should be only one authority, really, and that would be God...

I don't know what HE would give for internet guidelines, but I have a pretty safe guess.....

Yep, you guessed it, too....
