From MD's Gold Member Agreement

2. Description of Services

Matchdoctor.com will provide a Gold Membership for your membership payment, for the length of time specified by the payment level you select. The benefits that are in a Gold Membership are listed on your payment page at the time of purchase. Matchdoctor.com reserves the right to modify, add, or remove services at will.

The changes were brought on because of some members that continued to use blogs as personal forums despite being asked repeatedly by the Mods not to do so. You can read about it HERE

If you want to comment more then ONCE take it to the Forums where you can comment until the cows come home .

MD is to be applauded for making the new rules change for the Blogs!

IMHO the change has made this section cleaner and much easier to read!

My feeling is that this is the Mods site.. it is successful.. and most of us use it for free.. When you play at your friends house you abide by the rules of that house which can change when the need is felt otherwise go to your own house and play there.. IE build your own site, put up with the BS, and pay the servers that will have to be used to do all of this.. Smile

As I have stated elsewhere, while I don't agree with the new rule, I can understand its need. What MD should address is the issue of "blog cowardice." Forum threads placed in the blogs with the sole purpose of controlling the responses and because those same responses can't be controlled in the forum. In otherwords, post a half-assed piece of vitriol and have your head handed to you in the forums or pretend no one disagrees with you by deleting all their comments.

I really don't have a problem with being able to blog once with one exception and that is one person likes to twist the meaning of your words to fit their own purposes and you can't come back and reply to say that isn't what you meant. For example I said once they were an attention seeker, and they twisted my words to change the meaning. That has happened to many people and you cannot come back and say Wait, that's not what I meant at all, you just have to leave it the way it is, and the blogger "acts" like they won some kind of point or something. But really they have just manupulated your words. tc Lost

It's a real good thing...it would be even better if the writer of blog couldn't comment on his/her blog at all...

Most of us noticed when it changed a month ago.

And the owner's decision to this, among other things, has cut down considerably on the nonsense that one had to wade through while looking through blogs here.

Kudos to them.

Apperently this hasn't affected your life too greatly if your just noticing it now.

You won't get this girl to rise up against MD.

As said above, some were abusing comments to blogs more as chat with their friends, or a forum thread.

I think it's fine

I like the change.

It has cut way back on the nonsense blogs.

There will always be people who misuse, abuse and find a way around the system to their own advantage. Imlost2 has a great point in that some bloggers twist the words around and you cannot respond without creating a blog of your own to explain...and if you do that, you look vindictive or foolish. When the blog is absurd, at least it gets deleted, but by then, the damage has been done. Hopefully, people see the blogger for who they really are and don't believe everything online.

There will probably come a time when the blogs will be on the profiles only and nobody can respond. Only the forums will be open discussions. So enjoy your once comment for now, this too may change.

I see the change as having a positive impact on the blogging section of this site. There are ways to deal with only being allowed the one comment, which have been touched upon already. No doubt, it IS in MD's power to put a halt to ALL commenting on blogs, as I understand, it was that way in the beginning.

Ok so It seems most like the change, I was on a road trip for the last month so I did not notice the change. I still think its a shame we all have to suffer because of a few out of control blogers . Oh well we are in the USA and we are entitled to our opinions God bless . Paul

I'm no expert blogger here and all, but I am now thinking that if MD is or was having a problem with a few "bad eggs" why not deal just with them? Why punish everyone and anyone to come for the "sins" of these few? I mean - How many total users does MD have and how many "abusers" were there. The "Non -Pro's like myself never even knew there was a problem and still don't know exactly what the problem even was...... I've seen a few carefully guarded references to it, but never anything as detailed as say - one of Laughtillyapuke's epics.. There is much to be said about this is MD's basketball and if we want to play here we have to let him win and all, but on the other side of that coin - .that's one reason I'm not a Gold Member......

YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSS Its nice to know there is still people out here with common sense, Thank you Super1000x

I have to agree with you on this issue, I don't like the new format. Let me say that I like MD very much and have been a member for many years, there's not many things in life that are free anymore. However, every once in a while the staff goes through the site and fixes things that arent broken! That is probably my only criticism of the site. I used to enjoy some of the debates that took place in the blogs. But now because of a few crybabbies that make a federal issue out of NOTHING the blogs have to be ruined. I have no right to complain because I am not a paying member, but I do wish they would change things back to the way they were before. People need to grow up, anywhere where there are hundreds of people you will have differences of opinion, and we may not always agree with them. However, censorship is not the answer to the problem. This site isn't a blogging site, it's a dating site. The blog platform has been altered to fit the needs of this site. If you want the names of full blogging sites the Mod will give them to you. The way that the sate has changed is better than it was, only because of the small number of members that blog here.

Mr. Paul,,,

You are giving the whip to a equine that has long since expired.

Do not protest too loudly, or you may find yourself on the naughty list.

Enjoy the blogs, as they are.

some bloggers twist the words around and you cannot respond without creating a blog of your own to explain

Yeah had that problem with someone… Hum…. Nope not going to say who, but she has a new profile now… She keeps making negative statements, and then blasts others for the same thing she does… It used to bother me, but now I just think it’s funny to watch what hypocrites some people can be…
I say what’s on my mind… if I agree I say so, if I don’t’ I say why I don’t. I never clamed to be perfect, however will try to explain and try to come to an understanding… even apologize if I truly can see where I was wrong.. If the other person is open to listening and communicating in an adult manner.

I think Super1000x said it best, however I can see how it cut down on the fighting and bickering here…
So, even though I don’t really like it, I guess there is a need for it… oh and yeah… been guilty of it myself.. So, I’m sorry, I’ve also have at times been part of the problem…

About the only thing that really bothers me about this new one comment rule....the orginal blogger can answer your comment but you cant answer back....other than that i really dont care anymore.......cookie

Jun 22 @ 2:54PM

believe one comment is plenty. it just makes the commentor stop and think, so they include all the points / counterpoints they want to make about the blog. the only improvement would be limiting the blogger to NO COMMENTS. let him present his views in his blog. by eliminating the blogger's comments, he would not be able to attack commentors to his blog. or not...

Jun 22 @ 4:02PM

hereshannon said it so well...

I feel just the same..... Even though I was participating in quite a few of the "heated" debates, I cannot understand why people take things so personal, when they are most of the time general, or just somebody else's opinions.

Anyway, I'm a non-paying member... so who am I to complain?

(or else I might get on the MOD's sh**-list, again.... , yikes.... )

The off-topic, hateful back and forth bickering stoppedin the blogs when the new rule started.

I don't know where it went, but the rudeness that alienated many good bloggers has very greatly didminished. But they are gone.

Anyone who wants to argue can do it in the forums, on IM, on other sites, or out in the street with pistols, for all I care,

I just don't want to hear it, and I hate to see some of MD's kindest people suffer an unending flow of verbal diahreah.

Now if we could relocate all the religuosity and weak jokes to somewhere else.....

I miss being able to post an extra comment or two.

Most often they were used to explain what I said in my first comment.

But peace here in blogland is worth the one comment per person rule. gotta love Peace.

One thing the "one post rule" does is make the stupid political blogs meaningless. I'm all for that. It's harder to bait people now. And to tell you the truth, that's what blogging is all about. Good job MD.
