Yes, I know it’s been awhile since I put out a blog here, but this evening as I started to prepare my dinner, I got to thinking..My thinking was this..Thank God I’m still alive from my cooking.. I’m NOT a cook, but since I have to, then I have “somewhat” became one..
Most of my receipts come from the internet…Yes…You really think I could really come up with something I actually concocted and still be alive? LOL
I settled on some pork ribs.. Easy to fix. I love BBQed ribs.. From the freezer to the microwave to defrost. Meanwhile, I started the BBQ.. I have two coal BBQs and made the mistake of buying a big bag of off brand charcoal briquettes from Wal-Mart.. They were advertised as 60% larger.. They are, but takes 60% longer to get them burning, and about a pint of fluid. I guess the old saying holds true. You get what you paid for.
In the meantime, I BBQed the ribs, and steamed some veggies. I love steamed veggies..actually love veggies raw, or otherwise. Also baked a couple of potatoes, and made a toss green salad.
When dinner was done, I unloaded, and loaded the dish washer. Thank God for dish washers. I then cleaned up the kitchen counters, and wiped down the fridge, and sinks. Gosh! Years ago I thought wives had it easy doing house work, but now I have changed my mind about that because of what I have faced during these four years of being a single man.
Getting up. Taking a shower. Wiping down the shower stall. Fixing breakfast. Putting dishes into washer. Dusting, and vacuuming. Making up the bed. On, and on…I realize now that a woman’s job is harded if not as time consuming as anyone’s.
Everything done in the house, I slid open the patio doors, and stepped out onto the deck. There I looked across the yard, and saw water spray in the air. Oh no! I had left the water on all night in the garden!! Oh well, just goes to show that I can’t be on top of every thing. Maybe I should put it on a timed drip system. The hell with it… I’m going fishing. Or maybe I’ll just get in one of my vehicles and get out of town for awhile. Why not?

I'm one of the lucky ones....I dearly love tending my home, after all it's where I spend most of my time and I want it to be clean, neat and pretty. Since I quit smoking I've been washing everything down to get rid of the nicotine. I took ALL the curtains to the laundrymat last night and today I'll press them and put them back up...I even washed the windows, inside and out.
Now for cooking...................
I'm a good cook but I'd rather scrub and wax the kitchen floor any day...

Thank YOU , Thank YOU for being man enough to state , housework is not easy, think of the women, who has a few kids, works at a outside job, and still has to do the housework and laundry,, day after day, year after yr, and, sniff sniff, no retirement paid for the housework, but I kinda look at my grown boys and think, ahh I'd do it all again just for the LOVE it brings,,,,,,,,,,again, Thanks,,,,,,,,,,,,
