A BROTHER TRIBUTE TO HIS SISTER BETTY-ANNE


I LOVE YOU…

For accepting the role of motherhood at the tender age of ten
With grace, in exchange for your childhood

For your valiant heart, not once did I hear u say, “Why me” just “ok daddy”

For the pain and the wrath you withstood trying to protect us
From Dad’s shark demeanor when his marriage was crumbling

For being so naive to believed I lost your money for stockings
And found new money for my Mountain Dews and Tasty Kakes

For driving me around town in a blue ’64 Mercury Comet
At the ripe old age of twelve

For refusing to give back Mark money when I sold “his” coat” to you

For not being jealous when Dad made you shop for our Christmas presents
Knowing yours would be considerable less

For always leaving a door and your heart open
During good times and bad

For laughing and supporting anything I do or say

For sharing one of the secrets of life
Treat everyone like a million dollars and your friendships will be priceless

Dear Betty-Anne….

You are living proof that angels aren’t always in heaven

I love you and I will always cherish life because of you
