Isn't there anyway to stop the BS with the spam? I came here, pay to be here and yet the majority of the mail I get is BS! Why not screen people who sign up? I'm so tired of it. I used to talk highly about this site, yes I have a few friends I've met here but I can't stand it anymore....

MD IMHO does a very good job of quickly getting rid of those who join this site for the sole purpose of spamming and scamming.

I share your concerns, Sher; I visit two other non-paying sites and get NO spam in my email there. It is to the point that I often ignore email that I receive on MD because of the preponderance of spam I receive.

I, too, wonder why there isn't a way to screen people at sign up. Doesn't any spammer use any alternate email than Yahoo?? There must certainly be hoops through which to lead potential spammer applicants.

Special Today, MD's eliminating spammers quickly isn't solving the problem. I see the same profiles with the same picture and a different screen name show up and write the same messages within days.

Can I pay more to get better service???

If you read your mail correctly, all the scammers are rased in the Christian faith and are honest and trustworthy structures.
Some of them have had a hard time, it's not Willy's fault his wife died with her leg off on an accident, have some compassion.

It's not my experience that they are eliminated quickly..... I traced one back to Nigeria, then reported him. This was weeks ago and he's still on today. I use www.pointofmail.com. Half the time I don't bother to read any of my mail. If I see there is no photo and email addresses I just hit delete. I am a paying member.

Not all of them are scammers...I agree with misschoos ( with a small "m" because that is the way she likes it).

Why, not just a couple days ago I sent a beautiful young lady some money to help her with her Mum in hospital. I did this for her a few months ago too. Apparently her Mum is a little accident prone ever since her husband died in a plane crash in the jungle, and left them 14 bizillion dollars in a bank account in Zurich....they can't access that money for another year though. So, I retired her debt at the hospital , again, and in return, she has promised me her hand. And maybe, if I am really lucky, I might even get more than her hand!

So you see...it is just a matter of figuring out really who the spammers are, and those who are truly in need of a helping umm....hand.

Good luck.

I'm just kind of sick of it is all. I just need to vent my frustration to the gazillion emails I get every day that are total BS.
I do enjoy you real people out there! Misschoos and Tunes, you two are some of my favorites....

Change your mail settings to stop the spam from Africa, etc.

I think we are taking the wrong approach with these scammers when we instantly delete and report them. Then they just turn around and create a new profile and start again, no time wasted. We should all respond to them and string them along for a month as if we believe the line of BS they have laid out. Tell them what they want to hear and stall with the money for as long as you can, tell them you will be recieving a big settlement next month! If we all waste a ton of their time before they finally catch on perhaps they will find somewhere else to run their scams.

1) Try fixing your filters .... eliminate all Nigeria, Ghana, China, Poland etc.
2) MacMail has a "bounce" feature. Find and use the one in your software.
3) Use the abuse button liberally.
4) Delete, delete, delete.
5) Take up with somebody Good. Then you'll stop obsessing about the spammers.
6) You''re much too cute to waste your time on this.

I do have them blocked yet they are starting to fill out their profiles with living in the US. I don't buy into any of there shit, I am just saying I am sick of the mail from BS. I would really like to find someone to share my life with.....
All the spammers and BS is making me loose interest in trying to find someone on this site.

it's ok sher, go ahead & vent, we all have to vent now & again I just read it, giggle at their childishness & move on to the next. I only report the ones that say things that might pull someone more trusting into a scheme & MD always catches them & poof they are gone even if I don't report them. I too am a paying member & I believe MD does do all they can as quickly as they can, after all this is the internet & some have nothing better to do with their time than to reak havoc. jmo Blow 'em off hon & enjoy the ones that are real.

sher: If it'll make you feel any better, I, along with MANY, MANY others, feel EXACTLY the way you feel. I report at least a dozen a week. A lot of mine are "Native Americans", yet cannot speak English 101 . They are head over heels in love with me, and are looking for a God-fearing woman to love them forever..Oh, and they'll be in the U.S. soon!.

Nothing they could do or say would make me give up my membership in MD.
I know I could easily choose a pay site that screens its members, but then remember that the policeman who killed his girlfriend came from one of those sites....I'm not sure which is worse, a poor scammer or a rich Player. Actually, I AM sure, as a matter of fact......the Scammer can't hurt me, but the Player could tear out my heart! Don't forget that.

So I continue...But, these days I play with them awhile......and then report. I guess sometimes, the in me needs to come out. Have you seen the Forum about the Asinine letters we all get? I'm guessing that it not only lets us vent, but, alerts others who receive these from the same "potential lovers."

Perk up, sweetie....wish I could say it will get better, it probably won't, but I'm CERTAIN that YOU will!

Fondly,
Knittin Kitten

When a site offers something for free I would recommend taking that offer. The incentives of being a paid member aren't that much different than being a free one. Good luck in your search.
