Microsoft has been trying to get XP off the shelves for more than a year... in a final mandate, retailers are no longer offering XP or computer systems with XP.

Announced months ago, Microsoft's founder and CEO, Bill Gates is stepping down, having announced a retirement in July.

Somewhere I remember Bill having been quoted to want a computer in every household in America. He's not far off from his dream...

You will still be able to get xp through repair shops, they seem to have a way to get good code numbers and that's all that matter. Xp is going to be updated now until 2014 which is great,

You can also get XP on brand new specialized computers like the one's I have which are set-up specifically for producing music. The majority of music software & hardware manufacturers are leary of re-designing everything for Vista. XP is tried and true.
