20 kegs seized from party; 500 people kicked out

ALMENA TOWNSHIP, Mich (WOOD) - A party involving more than 500 people was busted by police from several departments late Saturday night.
Several noise complaints were called in to police about a large party happening in the 30000 block of 22nd St. in Van Buren County's Almena Township.
Two undercover deputies drove to the residence and found people directing traffic into a large field for parking.
The deputies also found people wearing security t-shirts charging $10 per person for those entering the party.
The fee paid for a party cup for unlimited alcohol and live band entertainment.
Later, deputies from Van Buren and Kalamazoo counties along with police from Kalamazoo and the Western Michigan University Police Department arrived at the party and told everyone to leave.
Officers seized 20 kegs and some money.
Three men, a 26-year-old from Paw Paw, a 25-year-old from Mattawan and a 26-year-old from Kalamazoo were found to be the hosts of the party.
A report will be forwarded to the Van Buren County Prosecutor's Office.
