Yesterday I spent the day with my sons up at Applegate Lake and the gorge. We had a blast.....jumping from the rocks into the clear water and swinging from the rope hung high above the water. You had to jump off the the safety of solid ground and hope you could reach the rope while it dangled so limply.
We also took Brodie, my sons boxer. We thought it would be fun to teach him to swim....First time for him in the water. But, after giving him a little nudge off some rocks it quickly became a reality that he couldnt swim when his body started sinking deeper into the water. Poor dog.....but we saved him.
It was hillarious to see my sons, young men on outward appearance, but still the little boy would come out of them when Id hear dylan yell..."Shea, look at this bug" hahahahahh.
What a blast we had......I will cherish another memory forever.
Have a Happy 4th to all of you..............and be safe.

Man I miss that...rope swinging over water
Down here (Florida) I have found sinkholes with vines which I cut and swing but you really do not want to let go since the drop is to solid ground about/around 15 to 25 feet (if a good hole). Hmm, well that was up in Gainesville,FL, here in Sarasota a sidewalk curb is about the highest point you can find.

Your sons and yourself make a happy, well adjusted and fortunate family. You are all favored to have each other. You blog brought back memories of summer outings back in "the day" in Santa Clara Valley. Our favorite activity was "spillway sliding" and I am not sure Mom ever figured out how I was wearing through the seat of so many pairs of shorts so quickly.
Kudos to you, SlimMom . . .

How much fun & a memory builder indeed! Makes me miss rope swinging with my cousins as a kid and with my kids, nieces and nephews as an adult a few years ago "back home".
The best of memories.

I like to run for the rope and miss catching it on purpose. Everybody gets a good laugh.
